Given Buddhisms origins. Why do most of us Asians not know where it really came from? And why do Chinese continue to practice this religion? It's not better than Taoism IMO.

Most of us dont worship this man. Nor give 2 $hits about him.. The 1s that do are usually compliants that got absorbed and do it to fit in with the majority.

Your comment of Hinduism and Buddhism being European is absurd, it's 100% Indian. What do these religions have to do with Europeans?

In any case, east asians are fake Buddhists anyway.

Ehhmm... nope. True, Sanskrit is the mother of Indo-European languages since Indians migrated west as well, not just to SEA.

And in SEA, Tibet etc. Sanskrit was the language of academics, scholars, priests and royalty. As I said, nobody is forcing you to be a Buddhist. East asians are all fakers anyway. End of story.

Yes you do, you're insulting my culture yellow boy. If you want to write a topic about religious/philosphical preferences between local and foreign religions in china then write a topic about that.

Buddha wasn't white, he is nepali/indian. And god has no race, besides buddha isn't god!
No one worships Buddha, what the hell is wrong with u? Buddha is someone who has achieved nirvana.

And Vikas are u even Indian? What's up with "yellow boy"? Original buddhism(Indian Buddhism) doesn't exist it was destroyed with all other buddhist school of thoughts. The closest one to indian buddhism is I think practised by Sri Lankans.

juwanFromTaiwan for a record you are a stupid ethnocentrist with serious insecurity issues.

you know what i dont get, indians say buddhism and kung fu came from india, as if it means something lol. the dude taught breathing exercises, and he sooo didnt invent what you see today and in movis. and for buddhism, most indians are hindu anyway. and so what if it came from india (im not buddhist btw)...it means absolutely nothing...we are all using english aren't we? does it mean we belong to england or some crazy shyt...man give it up.

and heres where vikas shows he is a retard...jesus was white!? lol....stupid...
SantaKlaws
Originally, Buddhism does not have a God as in an all-powerful individual entity. However, Buddha was deified by the Mayahana sect, and it's this sect that has spread throughout East Asia.

Still the origin of Buddhism is in India and nowhere else. A lot of Korean Buddhist monks go to Indian academic institutions to learn and share their thoughts on Buddhism, so it seems India is still the center of Buddhism. And Buddhism is a whole lot more than breathing exercises. Keep your ignorance elsewhere.

His argument is concerning not the religion but the so-called martial arts this, Damo, brought to China. Breathing and stretching exercises were infact already mastered by the Chinese not of any influence of India. People seem to think the Shaolin brand is superior and there's is nothing else. Ignorant mofos. You trace the true origins of the Hung Gar and you will find that Shaolin actually was influenced by Taoists and their arts, not the other way around.

hinduism was brought by the aryan ppl to india, who were of middle eastern descent. As for buddhism as that guy said somewhere above was founded by Siddartha Gautama. He is either indian or from nepal. He isnt believed to be the only buddha(this is according to theravada buddhism), he is the 24th(i think) who attained nivirna and became a teacher/savior. Theravada buddhism is practiced in south east asia n sri lanka today, it is taught in pali. According to theravada monks, the teachings in pali has not been changed since the days when the buddha was alive. Whereas Mahayana buddhism has been changed to suit the ppl better(or something like that)
and no he was not born from a virgin mother.

^I'm just telling you wat my friend who is a hindu told me. That's wat his family believe. He is indian.

According to this website..it is not that far-fetched.

http://hinduwebsite.com/history/hinduhistory1.htm

The Vedic Aryans were responsible for the introduction of many practices and beliefs into Hinduism and giving it a distinct identity. According to some, they migrated to the subcontinent of India at least five thousand years ago, probably through central Asia comprising of present day Iran.

Well, you will find a lot of different opinions on this. Some Indians believe in it, and some Indians don't.
