Given Buddhisms origins. Why do most of us Asians not know where it really came from? And why do Chinese continue to practice this religion? It's not better than Taoism IMO.

Still the origin of Buddhism is in India and nowhere else. A lot of Korean Buddhist monks go to Indian academic institutions to learn and share their thoughts on Buddhism, so it seems India is still the center of Buddhism. hinduism was brought by the aryan ppl to india, who were of middle eastern descent. As for buddhism as that guy said somewhere above was founded by Siddartha Gautama. He is either indian or from nepal. He isnt believed to be the only buddha(this is according to theravada buddhism), he is the 24th(i think) who attained nivirna and became a teacher/savior. Theravada buddhism is practiced in south east asia n sri lanka today, it is taught in pali. According to theravada monks, the teachings in pali has not been changed since the days when the buddha was alive. Whereas Mahayana buddhism has been changed to suit the ppl better(or something like that)
