Haha, It is kinda stupid for me NOT to know my mother's Mother Language. My Dad is English and I was born and raised in England so I didn't get round to learning Tagalog.

What I want to do is learn how to type and read tagalog fluint, could you guys teach me some please? Just the basics will do.

I don't really know why I didn't learn it when I was young, it didn't really come across my mind. Years ago I didn't really understand the fact that I was mixed Asian and Mixed White...

bahala ka = "fine. whatever.do your thing"
sira ulo = "dumbass"

important: kain na: let's eat, halika (dito:here, doon:there): come/come on, salamat po: thanks (polite way, could be like thank you sir or ma'm), paalam: goodbye (literally to let know, because in pi tradition telling one about when or where you're going is polite)

gunting = scissors
anak = child
bawang = onion
kanding = goat
sayang = what a shame

sorry if they are a bit random
but with these words you can communicate to Indonesians/Malaysians too...
might as well learn a Malay expression: terima kasih = thank you (literally: receive give)

While we're in the topic of Tagalog, I have to say that it sounds a bit like cave-man language, especially if you put the 'g' at the end of a word like: bulag-bulag in Visaya. No person on earth would ever guess that that means flower (Indonesian: bunga boong-ah). How do you guys think Indonesian/Malaysian sound like? I heard many ppl say the 'r' is way too strong, like a machine gun. OK, hopefully no offense is taken.

^I dunno about Tagalog, but in Malaysia it has two meanings. One is indeed "what a shame", and the other means love (can be both verb and noun), albeit in a more playful or softer way. We also call our loved ones sayang, as in honey or cutey-pie or other similarly cuddly or vomit-inducing (you choose ) equivalents. It'd be cool if the meanings were the same in Tagalog.
