and ya don't need to stick up for them japanese. they wouldn't do the same for you.
they do know they are asian. as in race. and they do know quite some japanese things were originated in china. they learn some chinese history in class.
but what they don't want to, is to be associated with the other parts of Asia that are poor and dirty, as Japan became wealthy a lot sooner than the other asian countries and is the second biggest economy.
like for example Taiwanese chinese and mainland Chinese. of course taiwanese know they are chinese, but culturally, they are kind of different. taiwanese consider the mainland as poor and dirty. although that image is decreasing with the rise of China. but story's like 'the mainland chinese behaviour in disneyland HK' makes them not want to be associated with mainland chinese.
and some chinese people do not want to be seen as south-east asian, cause they think those people are poor and dirty. and rather be associated with east/asian people.
itīs stupid. but human.
