Mainichi reporter, 3 others arrested for child prostitution

SAGA -- Four men including a 32-year-old reporter at the Mainichi Shimbun's Saga Bureau have been arrested on suspicion of violating the child prostitution prevention law, police said Friday.

Investigators accuse 32-year-old reporter Takushi Yama$hita of engaging in prostitution with a 15-year-old first-year high school girl from Nagasaki at about 7 p.m. on Oct. 27.

The four reportedly met the girl through a matchmaking site. Police learned of the incident after sources close to the girl approached them to discuss the matter, and they had been investigating the incident.

Yama$hita entered the Mainichi Newspapers Co. in April 2002, and had been working at the Saga Bureau.
