Anybody think an american version Battle Royale would awesomly rock?

Somebody like Gene Hackman could take Takashi Kintano's role.

Hell no, that'll just be another good Japanese film ruined by the American movie industry -_-
but it would kinda be funny if they did cuz they would probably do a remake of the sequal which makes fun of Americans and their government LoL

If somebody like Quinton Tarantino or Spielburg directed, then it might not be so bad.
But it would be very hard to find somebody to replace the crazy killer.
And the japanese culture had a large effect on the originals.

Please let America stop remaking asian movies..... The Ring...okay I could watch that...but now Dark Water, Pulse on it's way. Let them be creative for once and stop making remakes, it feels like they just wanna make more money instead of wanna entertain us.

oh no. not another american remake. well judging from the history of remakes of japanese movies, i was not pleased. but maybe they might be different this time. hopefully. but its never the same. battle royale was one of my favorite movies however battle royale 2 sucked.

it just won't be the same without the school uniforms.

american students dont have school uniforms so i imagine this remake will just be like those pieces of dog crap like Scream and I know what you did last summer.

i totally dig the school uniforms in that movie. the beige color looks really good. i dont like those traditional japanese school uniforms that look like a navy sailor suit.

The athletic one is the crotch stabber, Chigusa I think, played by Chiaki Kuriyama.
The evil one is......lemme think........Mitsuko? played by Kou Shibasaki.
Tatsuya Fujiwara has always looked ugly except possibly for a short time before Battle Royale.
My sis likes the other guy as well, the one that played Hiroki, don't know his name.
The girl who played Noriko was.......Ai Maeda, she isn't goodlooking

the reason why battle royale works for Japan is because japan is a conformist society.

in america, where youth rebellion is the norm and teenagers are encouraged to be rude and disobedient towards adults, battle royale would just be another ordinary teen movie.

Well, I'm the one that started the topic, and I can tell that there is absalutely no one that wants the movie to be ruined by american film studios. Thank you all very much for the feedback.

On a second note. If one was made, just forget all about columbine and embrass the fiction for what it is.
And don't cry if you think Battle Royale 2 was anti american, Because it was NOT.

I admit Battle Royale 2 wasn't as good as the first. But it still had a very uplifting ending, with a conclusion, that left you feeling more at ease than the first.

P.S In my weird opinion, the best acting in either of them, was Masanobu Ando, who in fact did not utter one word the entire time.

If its a decent asian movie Hollywood will find some way to screw it up....
