A talented singer-composer and dancer, Penny is one of the few artists who can produce both critically and commercially acclaimed albums. She started writing and composing in 1995 and has numerous awards in China, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore.

Penny not only composes all of her own songs, she has also written compositions for other artists such as Valen Hsu (Xu Ruyun), Miriam Yeung (Yang Qianhua), Chiang Mei Chi (Jiang Meiqi), A-Do (Du Chengyi) and Jet Li (Li Xinjie).

Easy-going, witty and strong-willed, Penny makes it a point to go for a long vacation after each album promotion, in search for more musical inspiration.

Fish Leong (Chinese: 梁靜茹) is the nickname of Jasmine Leong, a Malaysian singer and is very famous in Taiwan music scene. Leong was born in Kuala Pilah, Negri Sembilan, Malaysia on 16 June 1978. Leong's real name is "Leong Chui Peng" (Chinese: 梁翠萍; pinyin: Liáng Cùipíng), started her singing career as a "cover version" singer at Hai Luo Music Cafe.

Fish participated in many local singing competitions and emerged as winner in a few of them. Veteran singer Mr. Lee Zhong Sheng ( 李宗盛 ) discovered her during a singing competition at Hai Luo. She was then singing a song called Qi Dai ( 期待 ) which was composed by her friend. She started her career in Taiwan in October 1997 after joining Rock Records of Taiwan. Her first album ( 一夜長大 ) took 2 years to release, only to encounter a earthquake on the day of the album launch promotion ( 21 September 1999 ). Her career only really took off after the launch of the album Yong Qi ( 勇氣 ).

Leong has eight solo albums under her belt since making her debut in 1999. Her best-selling album The Power Of Love ( 戀愛的力量 ) sold in excess of 1,500,000 copies in Asia and more than 40,000 copies flew off the shelves in Singapore alone. Wings Of Love, her latest and double-platinum album, not only topped Singapore’s RIAS sales chart for 2 weeks but also remained in top 15 position for more than 2 months. She won the Best Female Vocalist award at the Singapore Hits Awards 2003, Regional (Malaysia) Most Popular Singer at the Singapore Hits Awards 2004 and Most Popular Female Singer and Regional (Malaysia) Most Popular Singer again in 2005. Her latest album is Silk Road of Love ( 丝路-通往爱的路途 ).

THE singer from Jelebu, Negri Sembilan who has been labelled the ‘Little R&B Prince’ has been making Taipei, Taiwan, his base for the last three years.

He released his album Happiness in August and has since been on a promo tour including East Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and China.

Guang Liang (Chinese: 王光良, pinyin: wáng guāng liáng), as he is more commonly known to the Chinese music market, or Michael Wong (his real name) is a Malaysian singer that has successfully made his name in the Taiwan music scene. Born on August 30, 1970, Wong specializes in composing and singing romantic and soothing love songs using his skills on the piano.

Nicholas released his debut album Nicholas 1st Choice, in Malayisa last year followed by China in March this year. The song, Who Will You Think Of, made it to all the pop and ring tone charts in the Mainland. Nicholas went on a promo tour for more than 45 days, visited more than 20 cities and received great response from his fans there. Nicholas Teo First Album was later released in Taiwan this year and set an impressive record of selling more than 30,000 copies in one month.

She is sweet, she is cute; but she has more to offer than meet the eyes. Having played the piano since the age of 6, Yu Heng is definitely a musically talented young girl. After more than 5 years of experience singing in unplugged cafes, she finally achieved her dream to become a recording artiste. It has not been an easy path for her. In her debut album (her first release is an EP), she composed 9 out of 11 songs and wrote more than half of the lyrics. You can’t help but be amazed by the girl’s talent.

The songs in the album are quite versatile. The song structures and chord progressions are interesting. Title song “Happy Day” is one of the songs that is not composed by Yu Heng herself. It seems like a tool to market Yu Heng as a cute teen singer in the Taiwan market. But for me, she doesn’t need that at all. It surprised me at first as it doesn’t sound like her style at all, though she did it quite well.

“Deep Breath”, now a hit song in karaoke, is an uplifting ballad. The lyrics is so inspiring that it gives me strength during my hard days. “Wo Yao Wo Zi Ji Jian Qiang, Wo Zhi Dao Wo Neng Zuo Dao, Wo Jiu Yao Guo De Bi Cong Qian Geng Hao (I want myself to be strong; I know I can do it. I’ll live better than ever)”. I’m sure many people can relate themselves to it.

Duet with Fish Leong, “Reason to Smile” is simply beautiful. Their vocals blend in perfectly and the harmony is beautifully done. In fact, the two girls have been friends for years since they sing in unplugged cafes. Rockish “Everything is Fine”, oldies-feel “Question Mark”, jazzy “Realize Love” all show Yu Heng’s composing ability. Other songs in the album are all worth-listening.

Hahaha. Dui Mian De Nu Hai Kan Guo Lai must be the funniest song I've ever heard. The videoclip is so funny too. I can imagine rx7boy wearing Bata Slippers, singlet and shorts while strumming the guitar singing that song. Many Taiwanese and Hong Kong singers made a version of that song.

Yup, Qing Fei De Yi is pretty famous. I think it is because of Meteor Garden.
