Police officer uses knife to urge ex-girlfriend to return to him
NARA -- A police officer was arrested on Monday for threatening his former girlfriend with a knife in a bid to force her to return to him, investigators said.
Yuta Kagawa, 20, an officer at Nara Prefectural Police's Seiwa Police Station, admitted to the allegations during questioning, local police said.
Kagawa threatened the 21-year-old victim with a knife at his home in Ikaruga on Friday afternoon and demanded that she return to him, according to investigators.
"I have only two choices -- either I'll kill you or I'll die," he was quoted as telling the woman. She was not injured in the incident.
Kagawa and the woman are junior high school classmates. The incident occurred when she visited his home to pick up an item she had left behind while she was still dating him.
