Hokkaido man handed 12-year prison term for fatally torching dad

KUSHIRO, Hokkaido -- A 27-year-old man who fatally set fire to his father after pouring kerosene on him following an argument was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Monday.

"He poured kerosene oil over a living man and set fire to him," said the judge presiding over the case at the Kushiro District Court.

Morimoto then poured kerosene oil over the father, who was sitting on a sofa, and set fire to him with a lighter.

The father died five days later from extensive burns.

holy cow! I can't believe someone would burn their own dad! Now it's a widespread epidemic and there are 100,000 cases of japanese burning their dads and even the ones in the friggin' grave! the japanese have definitely turn slightly weird! p.s. I also heard that a female torched her steak. i was like omg what on earth is going on?
