So it's ok for Christians to usurp pagan traditions but not the other way around?

I won't call it usurping... Early Christians adapted - to survive because of persecution. It's a disguise.
Religion morph through time and culture. So Religion, like all other concepts, are not absolute but deeply ingrained through other aspects of the individual and society. It's even a tell-tale sign of history.
You have done very well pointing out Religion flaws, from your previous posts - that I must admit. But disregarding it to the point of imploring leaving Religion out of people's lives is another. Practicing belief or worship of God (or any other God/s) is a basic human right. It could be outdated - I don't know. But everyone's got their own opinion shaped by history and politics in favor to the powerful with spoils to the most charismatic gentleman.
If you ask me, society could exist without God (or a God or gods)? Could be. But if you're living during the early times, can you tell that to your tribesmen? How will you explain the forces of nature and the sign of times? How will you lead your people with your limited knowledge of the still unknown?
