does anyone know how to fix the blue screen problem that occurs when you join a server and the game crashes to a blue screen and reboots?

actually this is quite a known problem. Most people do a reinstall which normally fixes it. Don't know try it out, it might work for you, might not.

I think if it was overheating his computer would be shutting off and rebooting on it's own without any warning.

Blue screen most likely indicates an os and/or software problem.

overheating and fluctuating of a power supply unit would lead to a system crash and shut down. BSOD usually results in registry conflicts or an error on the hard disk. Like i've said, BSOD from BF2 is a common problem the game is just problematic.

that has got to be the stupidest idea ever. 2 If the only good answer to any problem is 'formatting' then people would constantly be formatting everytime they buy a new pc game or new software. Shut up if you have no idea what you're talking about. Stupid information like this leads to data loss and eventually hardware problems.
