BERLIN Jan 19, 2006 — Environmentalists positioned a dead whale in front of the Japanese Embassy in the German capital on Thursday to protest against Japanese whale-hunting.

Greenpeace activists brought the 55-foot fin whale on a truck from the northern German coast and parked it in front of the embassy beside banners saying: "End senseless whaling."

Stefanie Werner, a Greenpeace official, said Japanese officials had refused to meet with the protesters.

Japanese whaling boats are expected to kill 935 minke whales in the first four months of this year.

The officials then later ate the whale.

With the overhunting of the whales by the japanese I wouldn't be surprised if this generation or the next generation of japanese won't ever have a chance to see a whale in there natural habitat ever again. There one sided drive for food has put one of the most endangered species of animals on the brink of extinction with little or no regard for others. Pretty selfish and barbaric..Hopefully greenpeace and peta will get wind of this and deal with them more harshly. Or better yet maybe mc cartney will hear about this too and never perform in japan again like he said against china 2

what kind of sushi did they make with it?

I don't think they make sushi with it. From what Ive heard and read they use the whales to make whale burgers. Its considered a delicacy in japan not that I would ever try it.

anyways. i don't really care if japan eats whale or not. they eat horse too but also a lot of other countries. a lot of european countries as well eat whale. or some other people eat the whale blubber (tastes horrible i heard).
