14 junior high school boys suspected of using altered coins in vending machines

CHIKUSHINO, Fukuoka -- A 14-year-old junior high school boy has been reported to prosecutors and 13 others were questioned for using altered 5-yen coins to steal toys from vending machines here, police said.

The 14-year-old inserted several 5-yen coins, whose holes were filled, into a toy vending machine at a shopping center in Chikushino.

A security guard spotted him attempting to steal toys the same way at the shopping center later in the month.

Thirteen others who were caught committing similar thefts cannot be charged because they are under 14 years old.

One of them learned from a magazine article that they could steal toys from vending machines using 5-yen coins whose holes are filled, investigators said. (Mainichi)

hahah i don't mind the other ones, those are funny, i just find your attempt to portray japan as a bad country is funny. This thread however is dumb as fu-k, as you make it seem like kids from other nations don't steal. Atleast these kids were actually ingenious enough to come up with a scheme, rather than the grab and dash as most kids do. They actually do have that "stuff" in public... Hell I've won a few of them hahaha... Anyway I've only gotten that "stuff" from trying to win PSP's. Tickets come in a black ball and you crack it open to see what you get, sometimes there's tickets for psp, ipod, money, subscriptions to magazines, toys, but most of the time it's panties hahahaha... They're fun to play with . I get a brown marker and draw skid stains on it and leave it on my friends bed haha..
