Man throttles senile mother
A middle-aged Tokyo man was arrested for murder Saturday for strangling his senile mother because he was tired of looking after her, police said.
Yukimi Kawabe, 44, an unemployed man from Koto-ku, told police, "I'm sick of looking after my mother and have given up hope for the future."
Kawabe strangled his 71-year-old mother with a towel while she was asleep at their home.
Kawabe turned himself in to a police box near JR Yokohama Station. "I killed my mother," he told officers there. (Mainichi)
