I picked up my first Gackt CD, Moon, out of curiosity spawned from the amazing box art. I was basically expecting an album where everything revolved around the, albeit incredible, vocals of this ex-Malice Mizer member and didn't think Gackt's composing skills could come remotely close to that of his former band's leader, Mana. I even went as far as to think he might turn out to be an imperfect clone of his former band.

I was wrong, very wrong. Not only did he produce a sound completely different than that of his previous group, but it turns out Gackt has his priorities straight and is a fantastic composer and musician himself. Do not worry about the visuals, though; he is still the perfect entertainer on stage, in videos and during photo shoots. It is hard not to be... with a mug like that.

Having alleged to still be good friends with every member of his past band, his exceptional and multiple talents may help explain his unexpected departure from Malice Mizer. His musical genius was most likely put to waste in Mana's shadow and he wanted to soar using his own wings.

That man is just so insanely fine. Put anyone else in that outfit and they'd look silly to me, what with the paisley and fleur-de-lis tie and bumpy shirt... and... he looks absolutely gorgeous, and the outfit is just darn HOT with him in it. XD
He does look tired to me, too, though. :-S I hope he sleeps well after the concert, even if he probably can't before it...

After ogling at so many many many of his piccies...I can't believe he can still do this to me. My heartbeat slipped down several notches at the sight of this man in a simple ponytail and a business-like suit.

He looks beautiful, yet menacing at the same time. Don't know how to explain it. But if I were to be working for him...I'd be in a permanent state of awe and forever scurrying around like a scared mouse to do his bidding (yeah...it's one of my favourite fantasies...hehehe).

Oh, I don't know if you've come across this one yet, but it says that the next concert will be held in Taiwan? Not sure how accurate the information is, since there hasn't been any official news from Gackt himself...

I was recently "introducing" an American friend to the wonder that is Gackt and I said the EXACT SAME THING. I said, Look he wears makeup and mounts his male guitar player onstage, but when he walks and speaks there is NOTHING feminine about him. I also said he's truly got the sexiest walk I have EVER seen on a man (so far anyway--I'm sure there might be a man out there somewhere he has a sexier walk, but I haven't seen him yet! Before I got interested in Gackt I thought Benicio del Toro had the sexiet walk ever but now he's slipped to second place, tee-hee--a macho Puerto Rican overtaken but a Japanese guy who wears mascara, cool!). Then I googled some pics for my friend. We both agreed that America needs a more confident type of man like Gackt, who can wear high-heeled boots and eyeliner if he wants and it doesn't make him look, act, or feel emasculated.

It's surprising how much online press coverage there was for this event. Hopefully that means we'll get to see more pictures of Gackt in Korea before he leaves ^^

Thanks for the link to the article! I hope that Gackt really will do some other concerts overseas this year. He's been talking about it for quite a while now, and there are fans everywhere who'd like to see him ^^
