Man slashes elementary school boy with paper cutter

NODA, Chiba -- A man slashed a 12-year-old elementary school boy here several times with a paper cutter on Friday morning, slightly injuring him, police said.

At around 8:10 a.m., a six-grader at a municipal elementary school was walking to school along a prefectural road in Noda when a man silently approached him, local police said.

The man suddenly rolled up the boy's left sleeve and slashed his left hand several times with a paper cutter before running away. The boy then ran to school and notified teachers of the incident.

The man appeared to be aged around 30, was about 160 centimeters tall and had a mustache, police quoted the boy as telling them. (Mainichi)
