Teacher arrested for confining 4 kids in park toilet in Kagoshima Pref.

(Kyodo) _ A 27-year old junior high school teacher was arrested Saturday in Naze, Amami-Oshima Island, for confining three boys and a girl with him in a public toilet in a park and performing indecent acts in front of the children, police said.

Yuki Morimoto, a male teacher at a village-run junior high school on the island, initially denied the allegations but was quoted by the police as later saying, "As an educator, I did something inexcusable to the children."

The children, aged five to seven, were not injured. Morimoto and the children were complete strangers, the police said.

Morimoto allegedly approached the children in the park around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, asking them to show him where the toilet was. He then allegedly took them into one of the compartments of the male toilet, locked the door and engaged in indecent acts in front of them, the police said.

Having received reports of two similar cases near the same park late last year, the police were on patrol in the park and arrested Morimoto after questioning him as he came out of the public toilet.
