A middle school teacher was arrested Monday evening in the act of trying to cheat a Yokohama supermarket out of less than 2,000 yen, by affixing discount stickers from reduced-price items to full-price goods, said police Tuesday.
The suspect allegedly stuck "half-price" seals onto perishable items, including packs of beef chuck-roll and bacon totaling 3,792 yen, cheating the store in Midori Ward out of 1,899 yen, according to Midori Police Station. The teacher was caught by a guard while checking out.
