It just looks like gel to me because it looks like it would be really hard and pointy when you touch it, and my hair used to be just like that when I used to use gel.

Ah right. I use gel but I never get that look, my hairs always got a wetlook to it when I use gel.

Probably depends on the type of gel too. Some have more of a wet look than others. You don't gel it when it's wet do you? XD

Yeah if you do it on wet hair it seems to look wet when dried with gel. Maybe try blowdrying first.

But every salon I went too, they said never to put gel on the roots. This coming from Korean salons.
