I was at an Indian restaurant with a friend recently and we were about to try the gulab jamun for dessert but sadly, i was too full so we planned to have it next time

It's described as "milk based dumplings in a rose flavoured syrup"
So what does it taste like exactly? Any opinions?

it tastes like real good thick pancakes but like a thousand times better. its dipped in honey and cardamon so its not only deliciously sweet, but fragrant as well.
they never give u enough gulab jamun in desi restos. makes me mad.
cuz i love to indulge in them cuz they're only good fresh. leftover gulab jamuns are a no-no.

They are really sugary sweet syrupy tasting. They sort of like crumble in your mouth. Extremily sweet and tasty. There are 2 types the one above and a darker harder version which is even sweeter(to sweet for me).
My personal favourite is rus-mal-lie. Its a sweet milk with milky spongey things. Probably the nicest sweet dish in the world imo.

Gulab Jamon is tasty. I usually eat home-made ones, which taste great.
Rossugola is good too.

Aww gulab jamun so scrumcious I had that while I was in Lanks it looks exactly like the brown version of wot Blob posted. It reminds me of a sponge soaked in a syrupy liquid its like a sugar hit when ya take the first bite.

Speaking about Gulab Jamuns I made them for me B'day they turned out better than expected. I added me own stuff so it wasn't so sweet I made the syrup more fruity and less sweet.
