Apl.de.ap
Perhaps one of the most successful mainstream Filipino American rappers is the Black Eyed Peas's Apl.de.ap, who has released songs such as "The Apl Song" (Elephunk) and "Bebot" (Monkey Business), which not only contained Filipino (Tagalog) lyrics but also native Filipino musical elements. Pineda has also founded his own record label, Los Angeles based Jeepney Music, to help discover and promote Filipino hip hop talent from both the United States and the Philippines.

Q-Bert (Robert Quitevis) is perhaps the most recognized and respected Asian
American rap artist to date. But he's not a rapper-the only speaking he does is with his hands as a pioneer in the DJ-derived art form known as turntablism, a method of scratching vinyl that produces a completely new sound. Taking "skratching" to a new artistic level, DJ Q-Bert, and scores of other Filipino American DJs up and down the West Coast have revolutionized turntablism and are among the newly emerging aesthetic's main shapers.
Filipino hip hop
The Philippines (Philippines: A republic on the Philippine Islands; achieved independence from the United States in 1946) has the oldest hip hop (hip hop: hip hop is a cultural movement that began among urban african american and latino...)
scene in South East Asia, largely due to the historical connections with the Philippines and United States (United States: North American republic containing 50 states - 48 conterminous states in North America plus Alaska in northwest North America and the Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific Ocean; achieved independence in 1776) , the home of hip hop. The beginning of Pinoy rap came in the early 1980s (1980s: The decade from 1980 to 1989) , with Dyords Javier ("Na Onseng Delight") and Vincent Dafalong ("Nunal"). The genre developed slowly during the 80s, but soon entered the mainstream with Francis Magalona's Yo!, which included the hit "Mga Kakabayan". Magalona became an instant hit. More stars followed, including Lady Diane (The First Lady of Rap), Denmark (I'm Markie D.!), Michael V. ("Maganda Ang Piliin"), Rap Asia ("Hoy! Tsismosa") and MC Lara (MC Lara).
Other than hip hop music. Filipino hip-hop is also represented in turntablism like DJ. Coki, DJ. Kimozave, breakdancers like The Battle Krew and graffiti like SBA CRU and UAT.
1992 saw the beginning of rapid stylistic innovation with Francis M.'s Rap Is Francis M, and Death Threat's "Gusto Kong Bumaet".
