The sole Asian Justice, and the sole Asian dissenting voice of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East concludes that Japan is not guilty of international war crimes (although he admits to Japan commiting grave atrocities) and clears the 25 Class A War criminals. The crux of his arguments lie in the racism and double-standards of what he says British and American imperialism did very much the same things the Japanese did during WWII, and that if Japan was to be punished, so should America and Britain. The Brits and Americans haven't any right to judge the Japanese for doing what they did, when the Allies have done much the same during imperialism.

Are you Taiwanese?
Suijen
That's a poor justification.

And the Brits should be reprimanded. Those crooked teeth weasels.

that's a very poor judgement, it's like saying because they did it also so we're not guilty.

he is not excusing the Japanese. He is saying that why should the Japanese be the only ones to suffer their actions when the Britisn and Americans have done them also. I think he was using the opportunity to criticize the racism and double-standards of the Allied victors

Because Japan instigated their own suffering.

If person A deliberately bunches person B. Then person B gives a blow back and knocks person A out. Should they both receive the same punishment?
RentonWong
Japanese and Taiwanese think so.
Lint
For most humans, somebody needs to be held accountable for all the suffering caused by war. Unfortunately whoever wins chooses who gets to die in the aftermath.
