i'd have to say Jo Sung Mo. i love his ballads. He's been out for a while now and still going strong. i respect that even though the asian music industry has made huge leaps in the alst few years, not only has jo sung mo's style remained constant, but he's still managed to keep up in the music scene. i

Jay Chou. His history to fame as his history after becoming a star is probably what you would call a story that could be written as a movie or novel and be loved. His music art is also one of the rare pieces where u can listen to his songs and not understand the words that come from his mouth but the meaning from his heart.
He also has a way to use different instruments from a cellphone with a classic music instrument as a piano, if a true artist can create from anything and make it good thats an art itself.

Im going to say Ayumi Hamasaki, come on, how many people get to have their song put in a game? That opening theme for kingdom hearts was awesome . Oh and also that's the only person who could pop into my head because I don't listen to a lot of asian music.

Agnes Chan because she is really pretty and kind.

She doesn't always follow the mainstream trend of music and although she overall maintains the same style of music, through her albums you can hear her style change and grow.

I like Utada Hikaru, because her voice is so pretty. She also sings very well in English, even though her first language is Japanese. My favorite song by her is Hikari (Simple and Clean), which was the theme song for Kingdom Hearts.

I would have to say SAM HUI he has such a good melody in all of his songs! and the music behind the artist is great! the lyrics all have meaning to them where as some artists jsut sing about what ever pops into there head! He is also an older artist and i dont think he gets enough recognition!

Asian Kung Fu Generation

I love the music - the guitar and drums are nicely combined. While they are still in their experimental stage, they still produce songs of quality and quantity. Their album cover art is always really cool and the vocalist is good also.

Hyori Lee, because she's prettiful and i really enjoy her music.

Theres this one song that i keep playing over and over and over again constantly...with no knowledge of the korean language or a vivid idea of whats going on..

The song is, "Please Tell me why" sung by Freestyle....

This song alone have made me his number 1 fan. The melody and the beat that goes with this song is so smooth, therefore i chose, "Freestyle" as one of my most favorite asian artist for the talent he showed in this song.

Lee Wang Hom. He has a uniquely new style of music compared to other male singers.

My favorite asian artist(s) is the singers from Big MAMA. When i first heard their songs i was moved at how strong their voices were. Big MAMA are not good looking like Boa, Jang Nara and others, and are not skinny and young, but they still conquered notes with their voices..When they first produced their first album, they put pretty girls on their cd covers and on their music videos because they were not sure if people would still buy their albums if they didn't look good..and the first album was a success!! Later they revealed their true identity and everyone was surprised that it wasn't the pretty girls that sung, but the middle aged not-so-good looking women!! After realizing that they aren't pretty, people still bought their albums! why? becuase they now judged them on their voices, not their looks!!

I pick Big MAMA not only becuase of their stong voices, their ability to move the heart, their ability to change genres, but their success without lying on outer beauty, defying the traditional stereotype that an artist has to be beautiful/handsome and have good/okay voices to become successful!!!

Big MAMA truly broke the association between beauty and success in the music industry!!

The answer is Agnes Chan. Simply because she is one of the most gifted and talented asian artists (check her bio out, guys). I have been a long time fan of her and truly admired her determination to do good thing for others. Just like the title of her new song on her CD "Forget Yourself" (which I don't have it yet !)
Agnes Chan has a "Courage and Grace".

Wang Lee Hom~
He is very talented and all his songs have different melodies/beats to them, its a nice variety to listen to. He can also sing in japanese and english and mandarin fluently ! =] Hes cool !

Utada Hikaru

I love anything about this artist
