Ai Nam Quan is forever lost. The saying that "Vietnamese territory stretches from the Ca Mau point (in the south) to Ai Nam Quan (in the north)" is no longer true. Ai Nam Quan's location according to the pre-1954 French map is approx. 8 kilometers from Dong Dang.

This has been reduced to less than 6 kilometers during the Vietnam War. The communist government ceded the Ai Nam Quan strategic pass to the Chinese in order for them to receive chinese support for the war, a war to kill their own people and enslave them under communism. Pham Van Dong also signed an agreement recognizing China's sovereignty over Hoang Sa (the Paracels) and Truong Sa (the Spratleys) islands.


After the 1999 agreement of which this bastardized government again selling Vietnamese territory to china, Dong Dang is a mere 2 km from the border. Also, the border has inched closer to the National Highway 4A.

Sorry, but several Western friends of mine and I think that the Vietnam War is a lot more complicated than that. All in all, it is the war that unified Vietnam. The stupid South Vietnamese government is the problem creater. They refused to hold election (which is against the agreement earlier, what betrayal dogs they are ), if the election was held, problem may end much earlier from the beginning.

It was not just the communists who tried to gain Vietnamese independence. There were also Hoang Hoa Tham and Phan Boi Chau among other prominent figures and independent movements. You must remember that Wh@re Chi Minh sold out Phan Boi Chau to the French for a substantial sum of money.

So many North Vietnamese died just because they believe that the region of South Vietnam is a part of our country. We often say "Mien Nam ruot thit" to mean that South Vietnam is an integral part of the mother Vietnam. If you every read "Dang Thuy Tram diary", you will know how strong she feel that way, despite the fact that she is quite young and naive. She is like most young people of North Vietnam, dont even scare to loose her life to reunite Vietnam.

I know that some South Vietnamese may feel that they are in bad shape like today because of the unification. But the very fact of being a human and a Vietnamese is that even you move away from your root, you will always remember and try to connect with it. And there is no concrete reason to believe that South Vietnam would reach the level of South Korea if the unification have not taken place. With a incompetent puppet government like the South Vietnamese government at the time, it may even be in worse shape than the Phillipines, which was at the time way ahead of South Korea. I learnt that that government even tried to force full integration (even by blood) of all ethnic minorities and they even tried to turn Vietnam into a Christian/Catholic state. (this resulted in so many deaths), So incompetent!!!

Any the very reason for VC to exist is that many South Vietnamese longed to unify with the North, and they also fought for it with so many deaths too.
