Fuking is a province on the southeastern part of China, right across from Taiwan. People from that province call themselves the Fukanese.

Famous Fukanese foods are mooncakes and tang yuan.

mooncakes:

tang yuan:

I think fukanese food is ok, not as good as szechuan or guangdong food. At least thats how chinese feel about it. I am wondering about foreign opinion. Thanks. icon_smile.gif

did you post the map of China to get Korean people jealous? shame on you.
eek.gif honestly that isnt cool.
and if you are Chinese, you spell Fujian wrong. It's Fujian or Fookin in Cantonese. So its Fujianese or Fookinese. BTW Korean food is also good.

mooncake is kinda sweet but not like sugar sweet. its a different kind of sweet.

tang yuan is usually eaten for breakfast.

its made of rice flour and inside it can contain either of the following:

-ground black sesame seeds
-melting caramel-like filling
icon_redface.gif bean taste
-chopped peanuts and sugar

I usually like the "melting caramel-like filing". the color is black and it tastes really, really good. munch.gif

^i've heard of it, but i've never tried it. i heard it was really smelly though.

In Korean food, there's 'chung@@kjang.' Fermented bean curd, i believe. The smell is just woah, but it's actually good if you eat it. Just don't smell it. When I was little, I couldn't stand that stuff. embarassedlaugh.gif

As far as I know, Jjajangmyun is localized around Huabei province, and Jjambbong originated from the Chinese community in Japan. However, I believe tangsuyuk(sweet & sour) is one of the most common dishes throughout China, or at least in the northern provinces.

Huabei?...these is not a province with that name in China, maybe you meant Hubei, or Hebei?... icon_redface.gif

Jjajangmyun or Zhajiangmian in China is so different, and actually it is not very popular in Eastern China anyway, I seldom see people eat Zhajiangmian in Shanghai or Hangzhou.

Jjambbong, what you said probably makes sense coz I have never heard of anything like it that I can associated with Chinese food in China.

Tangsuyuk? Tangcupaigu or Tangculiji in China I suppose. The way of preparing the dish is so different in China, we don't put in any vegetables at all when making this dish, and Chinese add much more "soja sauce".

tangcu paigu

For this topic, I don't think Korean care about what Fookin food is, it's too complicated, and I personally do not care what fookin food is, or cantonese food is, to me it makes no difference as long as they are yummy. Therefore I suppose ordinary foreigners call them CHINESE food.

The one around Beijing, Hebei.

THe Jjajangmyun in Korea has adapted to the local market to better suit the taste of Koreans. It's to my knowledge that Jjajangmyun in Korea is much sweeter than the original, and my friends who tried the Chinese zhajiangmian told me that it tastes nothing like jjajangmyun.

The one I'm familiar with is Tangculiji(lol all this time I thought it was Tangshuliji).

The only Chinese food I distinguish from others is Sichuan food. I guess I love its spicy cuisines.
