I'm wondering..have yall heard about hmoob tus Vaj Hmoob named Puav Cai....he was a hmong king lived before the hmong even migrated from China. You should ask your elders about him and see if they know anything about him. I have alot to say about him but i dont know if any of you guys have heard about him. My dad say that since there was no written document about him and since it has been too long. He is now somewhat sounds just like a folktale.

I wouldn't want our hmong culture and history to be forgotten since as time goes by it seems as if the new genertaion of our people is forgetting who they are. Most teens today even have trouble reading and writing our language. So far I am only the 5th generationd down since my father's great grandfather fled from China and the second generation in the US; which that makes me the first generation to be borned int eh US. As I am learning about our history logically I'm also talking to my father and getting back to back stories. I don't want our customs and beliefs to be forgotten as well. My father had told me about hmoob tus Vaj Hmoob Puav Cai. But he told me that there is no written documents about him and that it had taken palce before the hmong migrated from China. He said that the people these days had forgotten about Vaj Hmoob and that now he is only known as a folktale. I have lots to talk about but do you think that I should be believing all this?

I'm currently a High School student at East Burke High School. I read your reply to the news about the Chinese digging up the graves at Thailand. I know that as a student and a girl I may not be able to do much. But I am very concerned about the matter and if I can do anything then I will be happy to do so. I know that so far all i have been doing is spreading the news to those who I think will care and telling my thoughts about it. Well it's like they say, actions speak louder then words. If you need anything then I am glad to help. Maybe we can start something and raise money. I have been talking to my father about this and getting some of our past histories from him. the Chinese had been our number one enemy since the beginning and till this day they are still looking at us as we are not worth their respect. As much as I would like to learn more about our culture and past I would also like to take part and help out in the present.

Also in my personal opinion, I don't take General vang Pao as a true hmong leader at all...I have my reasons.
moryHX
wow i haven't heard of tus Vaj Hmoob named Puav Cai...i'd like to know more...will you share?
lilasiankid
Vaj? This is more Vang propoganda... sure.gif

JK JK im Vang too... embarassedlaugh.gif

Who knows....could be a good fairytale...dunno if it's true or just a story....you know even Chiyou and the other 2 kings is legend....not accurate history as it happened even before there were empires in China. It sucks so much that alot of Hmong history is Oral....maybe it wasn't that way before we lost everything eh?
herc
i've never heard of this guy. if you say that he lived before hmong people migrated out of china, he must be really old lol. share more about what your dad say about this guy.
honey_babe

Lol...i don't know his last name Vaj Hmoob means king so i dont think it matters if he's a Vang haha...my dad told me about how he started war with china and france...my father had also said that he couldt be killed. something had been done to him...i'm not sure how it was done. but he was undestructable...

yeah now it seems unnerving huh? well just like those Siv Yiv stories. but any how...the chinese tried to cut him and shoot him but he wouldt die...the curse was that the only way to hurt him was to have blood on him before he could be injured. SInce the chinese couldnt defeat him they bribed the hmong to kill him for them... this hmong guy had pretended to be a very close and good friend to him. through taht he earned Puav Cai's trust...

while Puav Cai was carrying his baby on his back with one of those things u tie ur baby on to ur back his friend took a sword and chopped off his baby's head then went straight through his. he died...some idea huh? murder his kid and get blood on him so he could be killed. ever since then hmong had not had a real leader. it was said that every few centuries hmong will rise another Vaj Hmong. The og's here are kinda pissed because they keep saying that the lady that was found with over half her body turned into stone was suppose in the processing rising and leading th hmong again.

since the beginning china had been the hmongs #1 enemy...and they had been diggin hmong bodies for years now. my dad doesnt knoe for sure but he thinks that they had been looking for the body that will one day rise to prevent the hmong from defeating them. my father said that they could have gotten priests and buddhas to help them count the years and help them out with the timing. when they found the stone lady everyone had stopped the digging...totally stopped and huddled around her. they placed her on a stretcher and placed two umbrellas over her to shade her. then they sang those songs they usually did and walked out of the graveyard leaving all those untouched bodies there.

i wonder why huh? also when the senator of MN prompty approached the white house with the news the chinese had complained about the water. if it was all about the water then why was it heard that they had also dig in part of laos? and if it was because of the water then how come they stopped diggin when they found that certain body. how come they didnt cremate the bodies they dug up? well i can be for sure that all those stupid chinese people is gonna all die. they're so stupid and dumb, they didn't even use gloves or anything when they were cutting and scraping the corpses...theres alot of diseases and bacteria u know. also they took in so much of that bacterial and disease filling odor...yeap thse stupid chinese are all gonna die...hahah...i have no offense towards all those chinese out there...and i really dont have a problem with any of them...just those sick ones who dig up hmong graves...

My dad said that every few centuries a hmong will rise a leader to attempt to guide his/her people to true freedom. That's all i know. See, the hmong don't even own a real country or have a written language for themselves. ou words really came from Thai and Lao words and we only use the english alphabet. Maybe one day us hmong can make something out of ourselves.
hmong_til_i_die
^ um theres this hmong hmong writting system if u check on the old thread....and yeah hmong adapt thai and laos words too.

and bout the leader...once he's gone/died of course another will rise DuH! but since we got no country rite now theres no leader hahahaha...and bout the guy u talkin bout...i dont think i hear his name b4.

Wow!!

So dramatic and interesting. THANKS for sharing that. I appreciate your concern for our Hmong history.
THANKS!

Nice findings. Of course the Chinese would try to bring down any Hmong leaders rising. Us Hmongs are just that powerful that the Chinese keep track of what is going on with us. Honey_babe I'd like to know you. icon_smile.gif

This is so interesting. My dad basically says the same thing too, although not about Vaj Hmoob. He says that Chinese people have been digging up Hmong graves eversince we first began fighting with them. They've always been digging up our graves, but nobody knew the reason why. I mean seriously, it's been thousands of years now, they got what they wanted which was our land we had back in China, and they still don't freaking leave us alone. As if Hmong people haven't suffered enough already from what the Chinese did to them when we were still living in china, now they have to make the dead suffer by disturbing their spirits. You would think that after you die, you wouldn't have to face those f.ucked up chinese people anymore, but nope, they still keep coming back to screw you over again even after you've died.

Btw, your story does sound like an ancient folktale. But it might hold some truth.

It's no coincidence why hmong often refer to our leaders as vaj... The chinese also use it too, example... wang ye...

It's a possibility that there's royal bloodline but maybe keeping the tales alive would be a good thing to remember our history and culture.
vanggirlie
all i have to say is that if we want a history then we have to start researching. i mean really getting out there and looking...not just sitting at the computer and looking online. our history has so many "if"s that it's hard to figure what is factual and not.
