Maybe a nose job, but many Japanese have sharp noses. Her eyes are natural. There's no surgery to actually make your eyes bigger. The eyelids yes, but not the eyes itself. She has those weird skin creases above her eyes, and with makeup, can give the illusion of being ridiculously large.

People don't understand the wonders of professional makeup. Your nose can look much sharper by putting a linear shine down the nose.

Nobody knows for definite whether shes had surgery or not, I suspect she has though.

It's not eyelid surgery. You can't get those unusual multifold creases by surgery. Those are natural.

I look very different since I was younger. Your nose sharpens as you age.

Makeup, aging, false eyelashes, dyed hair can make anyone dramatically different.

I love her, she's a great composer, including of her major hits such as M, Evolution, Free and Easy, etc. She's not conventional like some of the Jpop singers too, which i think is great. Definately has rock influence in alot of her songs

Yeah i hate how people compare a terrible picture of her (and we KNOW we all have those hideous ones in our past) with an extremely photoshopped one.

these two above sound good to me. I even think that her voice was perfectly 'appropiate', it has some raw touch to it. heh, yeah, raw, while so many people think she's so fake and polished and cute. but her voice is actually errm unique.

her music, that is really popular, is a whole lot more 'original' than the pophits that are coming out in the US or UK

She used to in the beginning when Avex had her on a short leash, but after she became Ayu the megastar she began being herself more, and Avex can't do anything about it. She's also one of the more feministic artists in the male dominated Japanese society. I used to not like Ayu, but the more you get to know her, the more you like her.

Whether she has or not, who the hell cares? She was attractive before and still is attractive. Therefore, all is ok.

I was watching a Jolin Tsai video, it's pretty new, I think. I saw something really similar to Mika Nakashima's Seven mv.

I really didn't know about this Japanese story of becoming a star when you die. It's a beautiful story.
And Chinese do have equally beautiful stories.

About the star. It comes up in anime all the time. An important character dies, and the main character near the end of the episode cries, looks up to the night skies, one star twinkles, and the main character says, "I know I will be with you again oneday."
