I use to know how to write and read those, but I kinda forgot, it's in my notebook though from last year - still nifty stuff to use though lol.

this is wat i got from translating the baybayin u posted, i dunno if i did it right, i didnt understand the meaning tho. enweis here it is:

haya mga kapala taya natanga sabakana gamatana anga salata na bayabayana.

well heres my translation in modern tagalog, hopefully its right.:

halina mga kapatid, tayo nating subukan gamitin ang salita na baybayin.

anyone try it??

a "comma" on top of a letter replaces the "a" sound after the consonant w/ an "i/e" sound

a "comma" below a letter replaces the "a" sound after the consonant w/ an "u/o" sound

& a "+" below a letter cancels the vowel sound after the consonant

OK here's the real translation

hoy mga(manga) kupal tayo nating subukan gamitin ang sulat n baybayin. biggrin.gif

like da and ra. there has to be distinction bet the two. and addition of few punctuation marks of course.

Hey, that's really quite cool biggthumpup.gif

Do any Filipinos still use their original writing system (i'm guessing the older generation might...)? Is it similar to the Malaysian/Indonesian one? And how did it get wiped out?

the evolution of the letter "T"

the reason it's the same, cuz a lot of filipino words can be change from d to r like:
dito=rito
dadating=darating
doon=roon
madami=marami

etc..
