Anybody know good programs that will convert video to animated gif? If possible, a program that has a trim option so the gif can be just parts of the video.

My friend uses ImageReady.

JASC's Paintshop Pro comes with a program called Animation Shop. That program has the ability to convert from avi to gif. You can select any number of frames from the avi and convert it to gif. I remember using it once a long time ago to make an animated gif of a bunny

Total video converter. Takes 3 or 4 clicks. You have to buy it if you want those captions to dissapear, I got the crack though...heh heh.

i use image ready too... i find it simple to use.

how do you make imageready accect divx coded videos and other formats? i assume i would need a plug-in

if you find one the upload it to me. it would make my life easier.

but what i do

open the .avi in something like flash mx(any video editor works)

file>import>import to stage.
it will ask you to make clips or import the entire video.

file>export>export movie>export the movie as "jpeg/png/bmp/gif/whaterver sequence" *note the sequence* oyeah make sure you make a folder for it too!

open up image ready
file>import>folders as frames>select the folder you tossed the frames into.

and tada! you have animations from the avi as readable images. you just gotta use a little bit of reverse and social engieering(common sense)

save optimized as>renamed.gif

I can tell about one more way to make gif avatar..

Ok I use video_avatar. It doesn't need tutorials to know how it works. All process goes in one-two steps.

The firm that made this converter does and another converters. They are very popular among people bcoz of simplicity and reliability. Well I like it too.
