Angkor Wat is part of the 7 world wonders. Some of the past 7 worldwonders disappeared already destroyed by times and those old worldwonders were chosen by one man who didnot know that other worldwonders exist. So here the new 7 wonders will be chosen by the people like you and me. They give us the opportunity to voice our vote. The final selection and decision based on the numbers of votes will be revealed Jan 1st, 2007.

My sister and her family are currently on holiday back in Cambodia and should be visiting Siem Reap in the next few days and obviously Angkor.

I just came back from Cambodia and visited Angkor Wats again this time. That place is attracting more people each year. This time I've seen Africans, Arabs, and of course a lot of East Asain as usual at the Angkor Wats.

Angkor Wat is the very essence of Indic cultural light and its vast penetration into South East Asia.

Angkor definately is the crowning glory of Cambodia.

No many how much fund we get, if the government is still crocked. All the money would just go straight into there pocket.

Asianonyx, the charge to enter the Angkor Wat complex is just a small part of the tourists's expenditure--like 20 dollars person per day. They spend their money on foods, hotels, souvenirs, travelling and so on... all these could be added up to 400 dollars to thousands of dollars compared to 20 to 40 dollars to enter the Angkor Wat complex. The government has no control on the tourists' spending on foods, hotels, gifts and souvenirs, travelling etc.... Look at it this way: $40 to enter Angkor wat times 2million tourists = 80million dollars. But, the amount spent on foods, hotel, gifts, travelling etc... let say easily top 500 dollars person
X 2 million tourists = 1 billion dollars... Imagine you have 4 or 5 million tourists in the next 5 years.. You are looking at billions and billions of dollars. Everyone benefits, not jus the government.

This is huge money!!! I hope you understand it.
