There are good and bad cosplays in every country. I've seen some really good ones on "western bodies."

maybe some of them are just very comfortable/confident with their body...

I'm not really into dressing cosplay, however its cool to see anime fans in America. There is one thing I dont like about people doing cosplay. I think cosplay should be for true fans of the anime, meaning they should know everything there is to know about the anime. Some people just watch a couple of episodes and say "OO I like this anime, let me dress like the coolest character from it." I think cosplay is very serious and if you dont know all there is to know about the anime/manga then why go to conventions and dress as someone in that anime. I am very supportive to anime fans and I am a huge one at that however I just wonder if me or any true fan of a particular anime who saw all the episodes and knows about an anime question these American "cosplay" people about an anime, how much would they really know about the anime. I know I sound negative, but I know many people who say they are true fans of an anime (ie. Ranma or Rurouni Kenshin) and they only saw half of the anime. I become very dissapointed.
