But I'm pretty sure most of japanese people in these days hate our guts.

Some Japanese (especially the younger generation) have expressed admiration or interest in Korean culture, mainly from things like music and K-drama especially Winter Sonata. I know that Tsuyoshi Kusanagi of SMAP has some respect and admiration to Korean culture (he even speaks it fluently from what I've seen), but overall these people are generally the minority and don't count much as a voice for Japan. Back during the World Baseball Classic, it seemed that Korea and Japan are still obsessed with dominating the other for the sake of nationalist pride. Ichiro didn't help with his comments about Korea either...
Basically, Koreans aren't that much liked in or outside of Japan, but there are a few exceptions. There's quite a bit of Zainichi Koreans in Japan that have gained popularity despite ethinic background like the current WBC super flyweight champion Masamori Tokuayama (he's actually a 3rd generation North Korean, but was born and raised in Japan). Akira Maeda (promoter of K-1 Heros and the now-defunct RINGS) once mentioned that he had to take a lot of flak for being Korean while he was growing up in Japan before entering pro-wrestling and becoming popular.

I remember during WBC some random person on the mlb message boards said that soccer star Nakata and mlb player Matsui were Koreans as well... I won't believe it until I see some proof. I think that's bull but I guess it's a possibility.

no body cares if William Hung is korean or not, at least not in the west. They only see him as an Asian dude. As we all know it, Asia=China and Asians=Chinese in white people's mind.

japan's view on Korea is generally improving. I must say, Japan was pretty racist towards the koreans historically, therefore waging wars and trying to conquer Korea in the 16th century (Imjin Wars) and annexing them during the Sino Japanese wars.
in the 60s Korea was one of the poorest in asia. however now they have the best tech infrastructure...

William Hung is an embarrassment for all asian people, not just the Chinese. Does anyone think that Americans will think of the Chinese when they see William Hung? No, they're thinking about the Koreans, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and the list goes on! They're thinking about Asians! So, to everyone who isn't Chinese, don't try to downplay it by disclaiming him. To all Americans, we're all ORIENTALS.

Not really. Americans do differentiate between Asians, especially Chinese and Japanese. And they are starting to differentiate between Chinese and Koreans now too since koreans are becoming more noticed.
