Seoul has been ranked the 89th most desirable place to live in the world. Mercer Human Resource Consulting, an international consulting company, conducted a survey, measuring quality of life in more than 200 cities worldwide. The aim is to establish the best and worst cities for expatriates to live.
Zurich was the most desirable city in the world, followed by Geneva and Vancouver. Seoul ranked 89th, up one spot from last year's survey. Baghdad was the worst place to live for the third consecutive year.

The consulting company assesses each city based on an evaluation of 39 criteria. They include political, social, economic, and environmental factors, as well as health, education, and transport. Each city is ranked against New York as the mean with a score of 100.

Nearly half of the world's 30 most desirable cities for expatriates to live are in Western Europe. Seven of the top 10 cities were in Europe, including Frankfurt, Bern and Munich. Singapore ranked 34th, becoming the most desirable place to live in Asia, followed by Tokyo and Yokohama.

hardly anyone wants to live in a city unless they never been there in their whole life

Sweet, San Francisco got the highest of the US Mainland cities. I have to agree, SF is greatest for quality of life though NYC is probably a more exciting place.

I would have thought Seoul and Shanghai would be closer to Hong Kong in the ranking.
Takashi
Didnt think there would be that many Japanese cities

This list is anout when foreign expats living abroad
why Ulsan and Yeosu ranked lower than Seoul?
Because they lack the infrastructures and system for foreigners.

For Koreans ,they outstand Seoul in everything from GDP per capita and stability in last year's living report by Korean living research.

gas is 110 ish right now. aside from that, they only thing that's expensive would be parking fees and real estate
ham_let
lol. 'gass'. weird spelling mistake.

$1.10 omg.

vancouver really is a nice city though. you guys actually have scenery. it's like this penninsula with a mountainous backdrop, the suburbs are separated by rivers, and the downtown core is on an island. love2.gif (well, not exactly an island, but it looks like one when you're driving to the downtown core on the highway)

toronto is like... a coast. with buildings on it. if we didn't have the CN tower toronto would look facking goofy.
