They want China and NK SK to hate them, so they will have a reason to revive their military? Obviously the hate isnt hurting them in anyway. Didnt affect their economy or whatso ever. Its like after the 911 attack, USA had a reason to send their armies to Afganistan and later Iraq.

I was just at the japan today forum and it just seems to me like alot of the members there are being jerks and just making smart a** remarks about the whole shrine controversy which leads me to believe that very few of them are actually taking this matter seriously and actually intent on making a change. For example in one topic where it said that a filipino vessel ship or something collided with a japanese ship one of the members on the site made a comment like " oh it was probably made in china"??? What an idiot I'll be the first to admit china has bi*ched alot about the past but I will continue to stress and to say to any japanese person reading this that our countries past is not that easily forgotten if you take into consideration the level of brutality and blood that was spilled at your hands after for centuries we opened our hearts to you to teach you everything we knew just to have you stab us in the back (literally) then maybe you'll have an ounce of an idea why we are behaving the way we are. No matter what they say or what they do to justify there actions and there whole messed up mentality of honor we still come out looking awhole lot better they they do because we can take some comfort in knowing that we didn't make the first move in starting the war, were the ones that chose to open up our hearts to teach them and help them back when japan was still in its infant stages. They can keep on going with their superority complex as much as they want but there whole notion of superority over other asians is absolutely psychological because they know they used to be looked down upon and now there just using that as a platform and an excuse to look down on us. They can say were dirty or weak but in the end Im pretty sure china and chinese people would much rather be the ones to be stepped on then to do the stepping. Japan won its little war against us but at least we still have our honor and Im talking about real honor here. Its sad to because you have real genuine members here like Takashi who I feel does understand what Im talking about and is really intent on improving relations and then to have members like that in that forum make those remarks it just gives the rest a bad name.

I dont feel that this is a ploy to "Revive the army". We already have more than enough grounds to make an argument to do so already. This shrine defiance is about praticing the right to observe the war dead. China and anyone else should have no say. Fortunately the prime minister has no given in. Not to say that this single act improves my opnion of him. Many make the claim that its over the general and several other war criminals. I can understand this. However I don't think their souls cannot be removed from the shrine. The only thing that would be removed is their name. If this were to happen I can't say that I would be particularly upset. Although I am sure the chinese or whatever other group would find something to whine about. However now that outsiders try to force their will on us with this issue. For this reason alone I support the visits.

To solve this issue, China and Korea should build a shrine for the Enola Gay, her crew, and her cargo. Japanese who can't comprehend or choose to ignore their neighbors feelings will soon understand once the Enola Gay shrine is built.
A museum similiar to the Yushukan should be built beside the shrine. Inside will have information on Japanese war crimes and attrocities such as Korean / Chinese comfort woman, Nanking, pearl harbor, beheading contests, etc. The museum should also cover the present day of Japan such as: the visits to Yasukuni shrine by Japanese leaders, failure to apologize for the war, changing the education system by whitewashing text books, etc.
Korea and China will then set a national holiday so that people all over Korea and China can make pilgrimages to the shrine and honor the 2 nukes that were dropped to end the bloody invasion by the Japanese.

In fact, the Korean musical "the Last Empress" sort of glorifies the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Righteous punishment seems to be the message.
But anyways, I think building a shrine commemorating the first use of WMD is far too barbaric. I'm sure Japanese would like to see that happen, just so they can somehow claim moral authority over this issue. Too bad though, Koizumi is hardly the role model for Koreans.
