A Cambodian court charged a Dutch national today with sexually abusing
seven boys aged under 15 and taking pornographic photographs of them, a
court prosecutor said.
Rene Paul Martin Aubel, 48, was arrested last week after police raided his rented room and alleged they found him with two naked 13-yearold boys.
"He was charged this morning on two counts: committing debauchery against boys and taking pornographic photographs," Phnom Penh municipal court deputy prosecutor Ngeth Sarath said.
Debauchery is the legal term for paedophilia in Cambodia.
Three of the seven boys Aubel is charged with abusing gave evidence in court, the prosecutor said. Police seized 52 explicit photographs during their raid, he said.
According to Action Pour les Enfants (Action for Children), which originally reported the case to police, Aubel had visited Cambodia nine times over the past five or six years.
The group has been involved in several recent arrests of foreigners on similar charges.
Cambodia has developed a reputation as a haven for foreign paedophiles and sex offenders as it emerges from years of war. — AFP

No way! How come? The sentence for pimps is something like 20 years. The rapists should get at least 30.
30 years is too little!! Maybe a life sentence to get the voice out. These are sickos, life sentence would make them think twice before they do something like this.
this is also a problem in the philippines. months (or weeks) ago a german was arrested because he has an internet porn syndicate.
My suggestion is all counties should make a strong rule to avoid those crimes occure in the future!!

Without specifics, that by itself is not enough.
There are many variables you have to take into account, such as cop corruption, human trafficking, kidnapping, illegal migration etc.

No offense to Cambodians here, but any white dude and other foreigner who visits Cambodia numerous times is a pedophile. They are not going there because it's a beautiful and safe destination. Very dangerous for them to be there so why risk it? They can go to Thailand for that and even Vietnam if they want to see a SEA scene NAD THEY KNOW THAT. I would say about 90% of Cambodia's tourists are ones who criss cross Vietnam and Thailand and vice versa to travel. If he is actually staying there and isn't with his entire family WATCH OUT! A white guy can care less about Angkor Wat and the Khmer people. Well he does care about the Khmers, the ones under 15. Seriously should put all foreigners under close watch. Esp. males who come alone. Specifically White,S. Korean and j@p. males. Those are the number one pedophiles that visit Cambodia. right there they will crack down on half. But then again no tourist money for Cambodia huh?? Every buck counts. But not every child.

All these evils that have been going on under the nose of the government says a lot about their priorities. It's a well known fact around the globe that Cambodia is a haven for padaphiles. But the Hun Sen government has chosen to tolerate it because his corrupt officials benefit from it. They receive money to turn a blind eye, a practice which is common all over Cambodia.
Here's a message to all the padaphiles surfing the net for a pick up. Give it up. Just pack your bags and take lots of cash to Cambodia and you are guaranteed young kids by the truck loads.

Agree with that entirely. A British sex tourist once said on the BBC that he didn't care for Angkor Wat, it's just a pile of rocks! (I laughed so much to that sentence). He went on to say that he went to Cambodia for the young girls. Just about every single white man who goes to Cambodia do so for the sex trade
