but i dont think it would count since he is from Thailand, therefore he is a thai celeb. it sucks...most lao ethnic are khon thai. i don't know of any Laotian celebs from Laos though. im not up to date.

about the Thailand thing? the Lao ethnic in Thailand, shouldnt be allowed, for example, like Tai Oraithai and other singers, who are ethnic Lao but thai citizens,

saying that would be like saying the Lao american, if there were any famous ones, whould not qualify?

They should be allowed so long as they know how to speak and sing in Vientiane Lao dialect, and not Bangkokian Thai dialect. =P

hehe jk...it doesn't have to be Vientiane dialect, but the Lao language in general.

How about this female scientist from Lao working in Thailand,, she is pretty, too bad I don't remember her name. One time she appears in the talk show in Thailand, I guess the talk show host didn't know she is Laotian. The funny part was the host started thank her for her work which was well know around the world and for honoring the Thai Woman. The Dr flat out and tell the host that she is from Vientiene here to work on the research sponsor by the UN. I wish you alll can see the looked on the host's face, she felt like the world biggest @$$....LOL To my cute Lao Doctor!!

Danny D. He is awesome, awesome, awesome....very, very talented R&B singer. If I know him personally, I would tell him to sing R&B style in Laos and release his first album in Laos. I can guaranteee you he will be huge. The music industry in Laos is fairly new and is exploding so there are a lots grounds yet to be broken...pop, r&B, rock...u name it. Danny D can be the first laotian in Laos to hit it big. Who knows, it might take him all over Asia. I see a vision for him....He is VERY TALENTED. Someone if u know him personally, spread this idea to him. I wouldn't be surprise if he makes it big though if he starts in Laos. Start out where u can be appreciated most for your talents.

The guy does Thai movies where he speaks Thai. His mom is Lao that escape Laos to Thailand. I would think that he would be able to speak Lao fluently to his mother. I mean cmon, son is talented. But he lives in Thailand/Australia we'll let the Thais and Aussies claim em.

when will ppl open up to a reality of a diaspora. Laotians were refugees, what
do u expect. having one drop of Lao blood makes u Laotian no matter what so
i don't wanna hear this "nationalistic" and racial hostility. it's unnecessary for all
societies, and espeecially for the Laotian community (which is diverse in and of
itself).
