Korean celebrities laughing at the A-bomb dropped on Hiroshima
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gX-JbBYkiZ8QUOTE
I was really shocked and ill to see this video of a Korean TV program of this year that reports on a splendid banquet in Korea. This shows clearly how vulgar and sick the Koreans are and why Korea is still a developing country in 2006.
The synopsis is like this:
This is a big banquet in Korea where many celebrities are invited including foreigners who do business in Korea. They are having fun by draining glasses of "bomb spirits" in one gulp, and cheer at a stupid glass performance.
Half of the video is over, the Korean TV camera crew shift the focus on a gentleman with glasses who puts his hands together in front of him with bored look on his face. He is the Japanese Ambassador Oshima. The TV caption mocks him, "it seems the Ambassador Oshima is not having fun..."
Then the camera goes back to the fool doing the glass performance. He gestures putting a small glass into another glass, saying "the way a beer froth bursts looks like the mushroom cloud of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. So you can call it A-bomb Spirits!" (Even though you don't know Korean I suppose you can make out "Hiroshima") Then the camera focuses again on the Japanese Ambassador's face who endures the contempt, just to mock him further! Really sick stuff.
Can you imagine this is aired in a public TV channel in Korea? I can't believe it, but this is for real.

Its definitely not funny I feel and not something I would have participated in. But having experienced and witnessed the same kind of ignorance and lack of compassion by japan for so long I can't really say I feel sorry for them. Those guys are wrong to be laughing at it and you guys are wrong to expect them to feel sorry or respectful of you considering how you treated your asian neighbours back then and still to this day.

First of all, none of those people are celebrities. They may be well known political or business figures- an owner of a hotel, in fact- but they are hardly celebrities in the ordinary sense. Framing this topic in terms of "Korean celebrities laughing at the A-Bomb dropped on Hiroshima" is misleading to say the least.
If the guy at the end makes fun of Hiroshima by likening the appearance of a cup of alcohol to it, then that's bad. But, according to one of the posters at youtube, the tv show showing that footage was about criticizing that bartender's actions. That's a fact about the show which is not likely to go around among those who are inclined to use this an example to hate on Korea and generalize Koreans, as some of the Japanese posters at Youtube are doing now.

Why Korean celebrities behave in such a way? They need to be more civilized.

This proves once and for all that the sins of the parents will be paid by the children.
In simpler terms, the parents' sin was WWII human rights violations, as the child here was the sole Japanese guy in the video.

honestly i wouldn't be pissed off that much , i'd almost expect some of them to laugh at it. In the same way Americans laughed in happyness when Japan surrendered , i think its very much the same concept.
Try looking at the koreans that were pow's , basically slaves of imperial japan , the oppressed people's point of view.

I'm wondering how many of you understood the footage. The film footage was criticizing the conduct of the bartender or demonstrator. The TV show is acknowledging the ignorance and poor taste of the demonstrator and the spectators.
At least, the South Korean medias are acknowleging the stupidities of some of our dumba$$ politicians, businessmen, and/or citizens.

2. They are drunk
3. Their judgement is impaired because they are drunk
4. When your judgement is impaired you tend to say stupid things
5. The video is in korean and it is criticizing that drunk guy
6. Most koreans would find that joke to be tasteless
7. Many of the A-bomb victims were also koreans

It is offensive to us for them to visit tojo at the yasukuni shrine. It is offensive to us for them to write whitewashed textbooks which describe WW2 as an advance and not as an invasion. It is offensive for them to write anti Chinese/Korean comic books which is then released to the public.
Of course, when Japan gets the blunt of it, people goes sensitive all of a sudden.

The bombs saved millions of Japanese, American, Chinese, KOrea and other asian's lives by ending the war quickly. If the bombs had not been used, US and allied forces would had to physically invade the Mainland Japan. The emporer would have ordered its people to fight to the death.

i am not sure if japan too into account the war in europe made perfect timing for them.......
we can only speculate................
i say this because the irish in 1916 used timing well to put britain under pressure to release ireland...which worked thank you very much!
so i would say no one country really started the war

This argument is just like saying,"If you buy two of our discounted products you save more!" Most of the causulties were innocent lives of all nations. The world of today thinks atomic bombs saves lives. We're definetly heading in the right direction.

There are so many Japanese racists on the internet bashing Korea. They even manipulate, lie, and do whatever they can to make Korea look bad as possible.

That's so messed up.
It's awful what the Japanese did to the Koreans in the past (all those times they invaded!), but regardless, the S. Korean celebrities have the Japanese to thank for the major successes in their economy. Same with Taiwan and Singapore. Without the Japanese setting up a sufficient economic model before leaving, there would be no leisure time and money to produce Kdramas and whatnot.

You gotta look at both sides of the story.
