i bet this movie will look better with more quality producing. maybe filipinos should start creating more epic and historical movies like this.

the problem with "epic" movies is that it has the chance to look really cheesy if done wrong (cheaply)
if a film is made about dr. jose rizal i hope its done right =)

but ye, i think they illustrated it aright. those native looking soldiers we see are called the guardia civil. during the time of the spanish rule, the spanish organized the guardia civil(police force that time) which is totally made up of native filipinos. they did this to organize the indios and to keep the spanish secure from indios in fear of an impending rebellion by the indios. the only thing in the series that is inaccurate are the priests and the generals and captains they screened, bcuz all of them were native filipinos except when the americans came in to the scene of the series.

Epics are expensive to make and I dont think production companies in the philippines could afford them, they could however create a novela series out of stories like that.
