"Student successfully cultivates rose in test tubes
Lam Dong, May 10 (VNA) - A student at the Da Lat Biology Sub-institute has successfully grown a rose in a test tube, 370 days after he took a cell from a red rose plant growing locally for in-vitro cultivation.
The success will encourage biologists to research the timing of plant flowering, said Dr. Duong Tan Nhat, guidance from the research student, Nguyen Hong Vu of the Natural Sciences University under Ho Chi Minh City National University conducted the equiment.
The first rose reportedly flowered on May 7 with the help of growth-regulating compounds.
The sub-institute now possesses over 40 more test tubes containing rose plants about to flower."
