Our Terraces are 2,000+ years in the making... who else can boast such an ancient heritage which continues to survive and be maintained to this day? Very rare & indigenous indeed. Let us honor our Proto-Malay ancestors, the Igorot tribes of Cordillera, Philippines who constructed this 8th Wonder of the World, this UNESCO World Heritage Site. I have singled out just one of the many terraces carved out of the Luzon Mountains by the ancient Igorot peoples!

These are the Batad Terraces of Ifugao. They were constructed and reinforced by Stone Walls unlike the Banaue terraces which were not. Although the Batad does not have the grand scale which the Banaue are famous for, the Batad are beautiful through their great and appealing detail and they are said to be much laborous to create as stones had to be lugged to the very top an exchausting climb even to this day without stones to carry, but an exilherating and breathtaking one nonetheless once you reach the top and you are finally at the top of the world standing atop a 2,000+ year old structure forged by the hands of our earliest proto-malay ancestors using simple tools.

that post is so off topic. this is about the batad rice terraces of the Philippines. not about some rice terraces of Southern China. This is for filipinos to find pride in their ancestor's of the philippines islands work in batad. stop disrupting my forum.

ok why are you being disrespectful, i asked that this forum be strictly about the batad rice terraces of the philippines..... i know rice terraces are grown in other places in the world. Rice terraces are even grown in Madagascar island (off the south coast of south africa) because malay sailed there from borneo etc... but that is off topic.
