Haven't seen Brother, looks awesome...

How gory is the violence? icon_redface.gif Like fake gore (kill bill, Versus) or like realistic rotten.com $hit?
ChangGang
I've gotta see the rest of his movies. Only saw Brother and another weird one with him and a lil boy.

Takeshi "beat" Kitano is a genius. I've been a huge fan of his films for years now. As an actor, he has done some great work, starring in his own films and others, like Battle Royale.

However, its as a director I really appreciate his work. His films can be comical and light hearted, or brutal and even violent, but they are always intelligent with great characterisations.

I eagerly look forward to seeing his latest work, "Takeshis'".

ive just finished downloading takeshis.
i think i am going to watch it real soon it looked realy nice and srewed up,because takeshi is playing takeshi kitano and beat takeshi (theyre the same person)

Okay I seen trailers and clips of Brother....

Does this movie have any moral or anything? Like is there someone in the movie that is a 'good' guy? (good like "Scarface")

Cuz I can't find it for rent...and I might order it if it's good....I don't wanna buy it if it's a pointless story...You know how alot of Japanese movies are just crazy...
Kultigin
zatoichi is the best of them all, only on the last it is irritating and non-realistic (remember that silly show by geisha's)...

the movie brother whas one of his worst movies.
Jaimu-Jaimu

Not a fan.
Manun
Only seen zaitochi. It was decent.
charlee
I liked Kikujiro!

It was embarassedlaugh.gif and bawling.gif all at the same time. Very cute!
rx7boy
I dont like his movie.

I have seen his Hanabi and it is a work of art. The images are subtle yet they deliver a great amount of impact to the audience. It gives you the lingering feeling of sadness to it.

Those who have not seen his latest work "Blood and Bones" should do yourselves a favor by watching it ASAP.

Beat Takeshi does have his ups and downs in films. I can't seem to appreciate "Brother". I can never relate myself to that film... somehow. Perhaps I am missing something but I dislike "Brother" from the beginning to the end.

You know if there is a good theme to it or no?
