Great minds think alike. That is exactly what I was thinking about. I already bought the dies and 200 pieces of brass. LOL

lol sure do! So I take it you're going all out on your 22-250 eh? Do you have a progressive loader for the 22-250's?? Loading 200 rounds one by one is an all day chore. Have fun with it. I just got an offer for my AICS stock, should be interesting where this goes because I don't want to part out the rifle, but I really want a SOCOM 16/M1A. Oh decisions decisions..

LOL No I do not have a progressive for the 22-250. To go back 6 months I would have bought the Dillon 650 or the Hornady instead of my square Deal B. At the time I only intended to mass load for my 45acp. My 30-06 I single stage for the extreme accuracy. So for the 22-250 will be doing as well.
I am looking at hdy A MAX 52 grain bullet with IMR 4895 powder 37 grains= 3808 fps....

Selling to buy another often leads to regrets. LOL You don't know what youve got til its gone comes to mind.
Case in point I sold a Mini-14 ranch rifle in .308 cal. That was a fun gun to shootl.

Single stage = the most accurate. Did you get match grade dies?? I don't know much about the 22-250's, but you can't beat 3808 FPS lol. Holy mutha that's fast!

I really don't want to get rid of my rifle because I built it up lol, but I really want an Socom 16. If I can't sell it by the end of next week, I'm keeping it and sending it off to GAP to see what they can do for me icon_smile.gif. I might get back into 1000 yard shoots again, but we'll see how far that goes, because I just started 3d shoots with my bow. Soooo many things I want to do, but never enough time in a life to actually become feasible.
joon
Thinking about buying a new pistol. SIG or HK, what do you guys think? Im leaning towards the SIG P229 .40sw because im looking for a compact pistol (Have a permit in King county). I dont really know too much about HK models except for the sexy unique sound it makes when you rack it. <CLUH CLINK> School me in the ways of Heckler & Koch preeze.

1000 meter shoots? Whoa that takes a special shooter. I have done a few of them and held my own I guess, but I especially these days keep it down to about 500 meters. I miss the days of when I was rock steady.
LOL I agree so little time for us working class types to use for our obsessions err uhmm I mean hobbies.
Joon:
Both Sig and H&k are excellent manufacturers. I like any HK assault rifle and their pistola's are of high quality also. I wouldn't be afraid of either choice.

Yah, I'm prolly just going to send the rifle off to GAP, to see what they can do. I'm going to be doing archery 3d shoots for awhile icon_smile.gif.

Joon: H&K and SIG are both great pistols. Choose the one you're most comfortable with.

Solid advice. For example Ruger makes a good rifle. I hate their synthetic stocks. Nothing wrong with them other than I just don't care for the feel.
In regard to the rifle. You'll miss it. LOL Keep it and save up for the new one.

You will be happy later in life for keeping the rifle.
Add 4 more kills to the list. LOL Its going to get even better. The local farmers have been mowing the fields. No more cover for the furry rascals now.
I think I caught a disease. I have not recieved my 22-250 yet and I am already thinking about another gun. .204 or 220 swift. LOL

LOL, yah, I kinda didn't want to get rid of the rifle because it was my first pride and joy. I know sometime along the line when I have a lot less going on, I'll get back into shooting it. 3D shoots are soooooooo fun though, I can't remember the last time I went out with a group of guys and just shot at random animal targets in the field. I can't wait for the next shoot, and I'll take pics this time icon_smile.gif.

Dude, I just bought a 300 dollar pair of Bino's lol. The glass is sooooooo good compared to my crappy 30 dollar walmart bushnells. A loat clearer, more light transmission, FOV is way better, there's no comparison. I got a pair of Leupold Acadia 10X42. It glasses like a dream!

I bought some Stieners about 20 years ago and they are the cats @$$. At first I flinched from the price but I never regreted the buy since. Nikon makes some nice Binocs for the price. If I were to buy another I would go with the Monarch ATB 12x56. Yours sound really good too. I would say that you made a wise choice.
I shot a savage today in .260 cal. Handmade rifle. Wow what a nail driver that gun was. Made mine look like a walking stick. To bad that its owner doesn't know how to use it.
VX-L 6.5 to 20x56 scope and he is plinking 100 meter shots....
If that were mine I would be starting at 300 meters.

I was looking at some steiners too, but it was close to 2k for the binos. The woods in california are too thick to justify 12X56. 10X42 or 10X52 would be the max anyone would need in California, unless you've got some private land lol. So a Leupold VX-L 6.5-20X56 and shooting only 100 meters with a .260............... What's the point of having that much glass if you're only going to shoot at 100 meters. Hell, I've shot 600+ yards with my MK4 lol.

Mine were about $700.00 if memory serves.
LOL I agree with too much power being useless. I laugh at the guys with thier 30-30's and 3x9 power scopes. WTF anyway??? Its a gun meant for thick brush visability 50 yards or less. A caliber just about worthless over 150 yards little better than a blackpowder flintlock.
The savage arrived today!!! Damn that wait about killed me. Now for mounting the scope and sighting it in.

I was getting to the part of using such a small caliber for a match rifle hehe. 6mm Bench Rest FTW if you want to shoot that close lol. Anything more, .408 Cheytac baby!

Are you addicted to recoil? LOL
I use my 30-06 for just about everything. I am going to the 22-250 to save money. LOL even handloads for an 06 get pricey.

Depends what you're doing with it.... Both are great rounds, I like the .308, though slightly weaker, it's a very inexpensive round, and the reloading formulas have been well thought out for it already. 30-06, another great round, slightly better in energy transfer, faster, and like the 308, the reloading formulas are all thought out already. Depends how susceptible you are to kick lol, .308 is freakin cake walk compared to 30-06 lol.

You might want to consider .300 winchester magnum and up. You can do it with a .308 or 30-06, but your shots better be on the money. Where are you hunting elk at? I didn't get drawn for the elk season this year, so I got points towards next season in California. I'm going after monster mulies in a honey hole soon icon_smile.gif.

California has Elk? Well damn i might move to Cali after all lmao.
The place i was looking at though was in Texas but its really expensive after calling several places i might not do it for a while.
I might just buy a new rifle and go mess around on my cousins farm, dig some holes fill it with corn and see what happens.

Not planting corn bro its a little late for that. What we do is dig some holes fill it with feed corn put a little dirt over it and put more feed corn over it. But yeah were in Florida we have alot of boar out here bro they estimate almost a million. i know some boys up in georgia who trap them in circular cages i swear to god they trap up to 15 at a time.

Make the move. We have awesome fishing, decent hunting (whitetail, bobwhite quail, boar, turkey, waterfowl, raccoon, squirrel, rabbit, and we have some exotics aswell i just learned there is a small population of red deer central north florida.
Did i also mention its cheaper to live here and the gun laws are much better? Only bad thing is no medical mj and the occasional hurricane.

I wish it was that easy... My g/f has already established herself in California, she just moved here, so I doubt I'd be able to go there. I love pig hunting more than deer, but heck, I need me a monster muley, before I even decided to move lol.

Well I have 9 confirmed kills with the new rifle.4 of which were head shots. One head shot at 348 yards. I discovered that a dog whistle works to make them stand up. I love this new gun. Crisp trigger 2 1/4 lb trigger. Its a bit heavy but sweet pull. The gun really is a dream to shoot. The 06 is put away until deer season. LOL

ROFL it took me 5 years but at last success. Now the next step is to get her to pull the trigger. She will shoot my 1911 with the conversion kit on it. I also have taught her to shoot my 22 cal rifle. Now I have the 22-250 light recoil and all it will be next. It is a heavy rifle though. She will always need a steady rest for this one. My wife is tiny.5 ft nothing and 90 pounds. I will say this for her she is game to try just about anything. My wife does not fit the asian stereo type in any way. My total confirmed kills is now 48 dead woodchucks. Oddly enough it never gets old. Every kill is unique and each has its own challenges. Tonight after work I shot a bull woodchuck at aprox. 200 yards with my 06. The head was destroyed all except its bottom teeth. They had to be every bit of 1.5 inches long. This chuck was huge, I believe it to be the biggest I have killed thus far.

what do u guys carry for everyday ccw?

ima wheel gun fella, so heres what i have ever since i got my ccw

interestedd what other fellow af members have.

I should get my CCW, hah.. If I was to get a weapon strictly for ccw, I'd get me an HK USPC .45 hehe. Actually my Kimber CDP II is concealable, a little bigger than I'd like for a concealed weapon, but it's not as big as my USP.

Yes sir, sure is a nice piece. I have a full size version icon_smile.gif. 600+ rounds, no jams yet, can't say the same for my Kimber, but it just needs a little teflon love.

Total is now 52 confirmed kills.
I admit that they are getting a lot more scarce.

I have a ccw but seldom if ever carry. If I were to carry it would have to be :

1. Chambered in 45acp
2. Semi auto loader.
3. Be accurate.
Second 2 none nailed it with the HK. HK anything is a superior weapon.

beerchug.gif , awww why seldom? neways i guess im weird because i carry everywhere i can/allowed to even in household.
with all the bad things happening in the world(robbery/burglary), having protection on you is better then nothing at all.
