I remember Sephy listed a good one that was compact and had low recoil. Low stopping power though.

Basically, a gun is a minature cannon. Each bullet casing has a small bit of gunpowder in the back and the bullet in the front. When you pull the trigger, a hammer smashes into the back of the bullet casing, igniting and detonating the gunpowder which fires the bullet.

The larger the bullet, the more power goes into firing it. That means the bigger the explosion and the more recoil, or force that's released into your hand.

For home defense, you'll most likely not be fighting someone with body armor, so all you really need is a low power gun with just enough power to have the bullet enter the guy. The gun I posted is compant and small so it can be easily carried. The firepower is very low, just enough to hurt a guy but not enough to stop him if he's wearing armor.

Use this gun as an example. Just look for a low powered compact gun.
freefallz
I'd prefer the mini gun actually. It'll slice open my enemies like mince meat.

Gun laws in the US are terrible.

There needs to be a test to see if you should be able to buy a gun. And once you pass that test, you should be able to buy any gun you want.
sweetntwisted
Psychology test? A lot of people can pass those types of test easily by lying.
Suijen
I meant a test like:

1) How Dangerous is a Firearm?

2) Should you shoot at hooligans drinking in your property?

etc.

I agree, and I own guns. The biggest problem with US gun laws isn't that we don't have enough. Its that we don't enforce them enough.

The .45 acp is mainly for compact pistols right? I'm looking at this ballistics chart:http://world.guns.ru/ammo/am02-e.htm
and it places the .45 ACP has having low kinetic energy, so I'm guessing low stopping power.
Penny for your thoughts.

Oh, and do you think the gauge of rounds used in this extrema video can be 12 guage?

WOW the opposite. 45acp should be almost double the 9mm. Its not like a 44 mag. But it goes in about .5 inches exits about 4 inches. Its lethal. I think 12 guage number 7 or 8 shot. for skeet or trap.

Where would you rank it between

.357-10mm-.44?

As for pistol size frame? There are compact 45 acp's I dont like them. I like a manly gun with a little weight. It helps with accuracy, felt recoil and a bigger gun looks meaner hahahaha.

Diameter just slightly larger than .44 less powder so less spd and energy. Its a sub sonic round I believe. I shoot full metal jackets I have to see the bullet weight. I just bought a new box of military rounds. I dont care for the magnums. Loud and abusive to shoot . I was injured in the service and so I try not to punish old wounds.

tinman01, do share how to own a gun, i lives in Socal, i know they have tough gun laws in this part state and i know you need ccw to carry one, mind giving me a crash course with what i must know?

I have:

Glock .45 13+1
Armscor .45 8+1
2 x Imperial Defence 1911 ranger .45 7+1
M16

Sadly locked away in storage at home in the Philippines, which i carried around for a little over 4 months whilst i was on holiday over there. Of all the firearm in my collectiion the biggest animal in all of them is the Glock, for a handgun you really do feel the recoil (that english term?) on this gun (especially if your using double action ammos and it is a very mean looking gun. My favourite shooting gun has got to be the Armscor, it feels nice and shoots nice and easy ( i never leave home without it)

I have used and shot an M14 rifle and this is one lethal mofo firearm i swear. Theres probably something more lethal but this is how good it got for me. Range shooting is cool too.

I have nothing but utter respect for these killing instruments, whilst walking with it in the street youd be forgiven thinking your holding someones life there.

WOW you have some serious .45 's Both the glock and armscor are fine weapons. I like the 1911 modles but that is because I am also biased. I learned on the colt gov mod 1911. Yhere is a lot of heated discussion about double action v.s single. I also have a S&W mod 645 in 45 acp. It was the first pistola I ever bought. It shoots 5 inch groups at 25 meters and so stays home most of the time. Hahahaha
How to own in the USA isn't an easy answer every state has its own restrictions. The generic answer is :
1. Fill out the paper work any gunshop can provide you.
2. Pass the back ground check if applying for a consealed permit
3. It would really help you if you joined a local shooting range or club.
4. Find a gun shop you both like and are confortable with.( its weird but most shooters become loyal to a shop)
The-Foreigner
I heard when you apply for a licence to carry, you'll have to specific about why you feel the needs to be carrying one? like if i said theres a threat to me life, will i need to produce evidence that this is the case? All i want to do really is carry it, for life threatning situations, i just want to be ready!

Correct. Depending on who is processing your paper work will depend how hard core they are. You can actually carry a weapon in the open. Its when you have a shoulder rig under your jacket. But then again hahaha walking around with a hand cannon might result in an arrest.seriously every state has laws specific to them. In Pa its ok to transport a pistol with out having a consealed weaps permit if your going to or from a shooting range or gun shop. Pistol must be in the open in clear view.
I myself dont have the consealed permit. I could if I wanted but quite honestly I dont carry a gun for any other reason than the shooting range .

was that its real rate of fire? I thought it was like fast motion or something. For room cleaning you need a short stock, short barrel 12 guage 00 buck shot.
