does anyone know anything about his privat life ??
when you search google there isnt much info about his personal life
is he married?? does he has kids?
by the way i also found this about him

i thought only america was that annoying with papparazzi
Takeshi Kitano a Violent Man?
Which brings us to the touchy subject of Takeshi's relationship with the press. There is a story were Takeshi and some friends attacks a editorship to a newspaper with raised umbrellas.
"A paparazzo had hunted my girlfriend for a long time. I was upset and waved with an umbrella. After that people say I'm violent. But I'm not. Ten years after this, those guys still dog me. They're still at it. But I will say this about the Japanese Mass Media, they are very sensitive to the way the outside world things. They may not have taken me seriously at first, but since Violent Cop and Sonatine received such a positive response in Europe, the Japanese Mass Media have started to take my films more seriously".but can any one please tell me something about his personal life

This guy is sooooooooooooo famous in japan
he dericted en starred in alot of movies.
and also did alot of hillarious tv shows
here is a link to info about some of the movies and tv shows he made:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001429/Mini biography
Takeshi Kitano was born in Tokyo in 1947 and entered show business in 1972 as "Beat" Takeshi, the stage name he continues to use today as a performer. As part of the comic duo Two Beats, Kitano was one of the leading figures in the manzai (stand-up comedy) boom in the late 1970s. With his distinctive art of speech and his idiosyncratic perspective, Kitano became one of the most popular entertainers in the country during the 1980s.
Since his 1989 directorial debut, Kitano has written, directed, edited or starred in almost a film per year without losing the momentum of his originality and heightened artistic sensibility. The extraordinary success of 1997's Hana-bi (1997) confirmed Kitano's place as a leading figure of international cinema. Among its numerous awards, "Hana-bi" won Venice Film Festival's Golden Lion and was named Best Non-European Film by the European Film Academy. "Hana-bi" was cited on numerous "Best Films of the Year" lists, often in the #1 position.
In 2000 Kitano made Brother (2000), his first film shot outside of Japan. "Brother", like other Kitano-directed films such as his debut _Sono otoko, kyobo ni tsuki (1989)_ (US title: "Violent Cop"), 3-4x juugatsu (1990) (US title: "Boiling Point") and Sonatine (1993), centered around yakuza (gangster) characters. The filmmaker contrasted the violence and action of those films with comedy or tenderness in films like Ano natsu, ichiban shizukana umi (1991) (US title: "A Scene at the Sea"), Minnā-yatteruka! (1995) (US title: "Getting Any?"), Kidzu ritan (1996) (US title: "Kids Return") and _Kikujiro no natsu (1999)_ . For the first time in six years, Kitano remained strictly behind the camera on Dolls (2002), his tenth film as a writer-director.
As an actor Kitano has also appeared in films that he has not directed himself. He won international attention for his role in Nagisa Oshima's Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (1983). He collaborated again with Oshima in 1999's samurai epic Gohatto (1999) (US title: "Taboo"). He appeared in Kinji Fukasaku's controversial box-office smash Batoru rowaiaru (2000) (US title: "Battle Royale"). His credits in films directed by non-Japanese filmmakers include include Robert Longo's Johnny Mnemonic (1995) and Jean-Pierre Limosin's Tokyo Eyes (1998).
After an incredibly prolific and diverse 25-year career, Kitano continues to be one of the foremost personalities in Japan. He participates in five TV programs weekly, as well as several TV films and specials per year. He has written a number of novels and collections of short stories, essays and poetry. Also an accomplished cartoonist and painter, Kitano's artwork can be seen in "Hana-bi" and "Kikujiro".

Takeshi Kitano is fantastic, by far one of my favourite Japanese actors/producers/director......
Kikujiro was one of my favourites by him, but I love every one of his films I have seen. They are just a little different to everything else, real power.

I love Beat Takeshi!
I didn't realise until a a year or so ago that the gameshow "Takeshi's Castle" was a Beat Takeshi show! Here in the UK they edit out his appearances and I'd been watching it for so long I'd never even drawn the connection between Takeshi being in the name and Beat Takeshi! It wasn't until one episode I saw him sitting in the karaoke bar during one of the games and I had a real WTF moment! I ran to wikipedia and found out after all these years I've been watching a show that has Beat Takeshi edited out of it!

Takeshi Kitano! This guy was Zatoichi, The Blind Swordsman (2003)!!!

It's one of the best movies I have ever seen in my life. Here's what wiki has to say about the mood and style of his movies : Kitano's films are usually dramas about Yakuza gangsters or the police, referred to by critics as being highly deadpan to the point of
near-stasis. He often uses long takes where nothing appears to be happening, or with edits that cut immediately to the aftermath of an event. Many of his films express a bleak or
nihilistic philosophy, but they are also filled with a great deal of humor and remarkable affection for their characters.
If u can't find much info about his life, that's cuz this man is an Enigma.

Hello.
The first person who started this thread asked a question -- about "Beat" Takeshi's private life. I was in Japan in 1986-87, and there was a HUGE incident then that involved him. Basically, one of the popular picture magazines (Focus?) that specializes in gossip and "papparazi" photographs tried to take a picture of Beat Takeshi's girlfriend and ask her questions as she got into a taxi. They kept persisting and bothering her, even though she said "no" very clearly. I think they were out of line, but not too physical. Anyway, The next actual incident was more violent than the one reported above.
In response, Takeshi Kitano took a group of his called "the Takeshi Gumi," basically a group of about half a dozen young thugs ("yankii" types), then went to the office of the magazine's editor, and started beating him and others up with a fire extinguisher and baseball bats. I think the editor ended up in the hospital, it was quite a violent attack.
I can't remember if it was late 1986 or early 1987, but the reaction against Beat Takeshi (Kitano Takeshi) was so negative because of this violence, that either he or his agent had to agree to not appear in any television shows or movies for one year to atone for his actions. I don't know if there was any court settlement or what happened with criminal charges against him and his "Takeshi Gumi" at that time.
Anyway, if he seems to know alot about Yakuza and violence, I would bet much of his knowledge is first hand. These days he is either too old, or he just knows to behave himself. Him making his own movies was a big change in his life for him.
If you are a big fan of his, you can also look for an American science fiction movie called "Johnny Pneumonic" starring Keanu Reeves. It's over 10 years old, so it might be difficult to find -- check www.IMDB.com for details. The movie is not really fantastic, its "ok," the script and story is pretty interesting, there are some interesting actors in it, and Beat Takeshi is very good in it.
In that movie, he plays a chief yakuza in a fancy office. He almost never speaks English. In fact, he rarely speaks in the movie -- he is like many of his own movies. My favorite line is when his No. 2 Yakuza guy (non Japanese Asian American) comes in the office, bows, and says something in Japanese, acting like a Japanese Yakuza. Like a typical Hollywood movie, his Japanese accent is really bad. But after he says his first line in Japanese, Takeshi's character says, "Baka. You're not Japanese. Speak English." So the guy talks in English, and Takeshi just talks in Japanese. Funny.
Beat Takeshi has a "split" personality in his career -- his movies, and his TV work. On TV, he is "Beat Takeshi," and "Takeshi Kitano" is his movie "persona." His TV work is pretty standard, conservative Japanese TV stuff. He hosts a TV show called "TV Takeru" on Mondays that is one of the few TV shows in Japan for debating political issues. The pose is that the show is neutral and invites both sides to debate, but actually it strongly favors a pretty conservative, typical mainstream Japanese TV viewpoint. I think some non Japanese fans of Beat Takeshi would not be so crazy about him if they knew more about that show. He keeps real quiet, but he lets the loud right wing types debate loudly, and the people on the other side of the loud right wingers keep pretty quiet and polite, and rarely speak out. I think their comments may even be edited by the show, since it is pretaped before going on the air. Many American shows like that are the same.
He had a motorcyle accident some years ago, and that was pretty serious. If you watch his movies, you can see how one side of his body is pretty badly damaged.
All in all, he certainly is one of the more "noteworthy" of Japanese celebrities. I think now he gets tremendous respect from the Japanese media and mostly everyone. He's also still extremely private, but with a celebrity like him at this stage in his career, the tabloid press pretty much leaves him alone...I think.
