I have always known Japanese people to have sort of a fetish for the english language. Like they always throw some english into their popular music, and sometimes it sounds pretty damn funny. Anyway, this is partially a joke but, what if an American just went over to Japan to become a rock or pop star, I mean it couldn't be that hard cause if you can sing well in english they probly already adore you i.e. brittany spears etc. I bet you could set up a whole scam to make it seem like you were popular in the U.S. I think I have a plan now. Yes......

Some friends of mine were joking about this. We would make elevator music and become big in japan

. we would be like rock n roll stars except we would make elevator music, we would destroy hotel rooms and have sex with groupies and scream: Elevator music and sex!

Some typical elevator music
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VR56BCmda4...levator%20musicSo how big would we be in Japan? Elevator music and then cross dressing and looking girly.
History about elevator music:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elevator_musicWe were also thinking about adding porno industry music into the sound.
This our plan:
Music genre: Elevator music + porno music
5 man group:
One yoddler, name U-Know
one pipesackplayer, name Hero.
one bass player, name Micky
one DJ, name Changming
one drummer, name Xia
Well call our group, DŽelevator and dress out like girls.
How about that eh?
Some porn music. Althought im not sure what porn music this is what google gave me.

I don't think a non-Japanise could actualy make it big in Japan. Rember that Japan is a rather closed country, and as much as ther are alot of English phrases flying around in music, but even small contact with Japanise mediua will give U the picture, that Japanise ppl know english realy low, and no one realy feels comfortable about talking to a foreginer without an interpretator.
But if U become a world famous star, U will probablu get a fan base in Japan. So good luick ^^

I think the Japanese entertainment biz is very open comparing to most of the countries in the world. You can see American, Thai, Chinese, and Korean making it in the Japanese entertainment circle...I don't know if you can make it, but you may have a bigger chance in Japanese market than other asian market...

oh i remember there was a group in korea that had a white guy in it. he was a rapper. the group's name was "golbengee" they seemed pretty popular but i dont kno what happened. never heard from'em again.
i think going to japan to make english written songs is kinda wierd. unless you sing in japanese thats different. cuz they already listen to american songs from what america has. they'll be like why is this white guy singing american songs in japan.

isn't there one Angela Aki girl in japan who's pretty famous? She looks pretty caucasian to me, however her father is japanese. I think its possible, maybe better if you were to sing in Japanese instead of all english.

agreed . . . Japan has the second lasrgest entertainment industry in the world. It would be hard/next to impossible to go in and just make it "big"
the reason why foreign stars gain popularity in Japan is that their own countries have agencies in whichthey organize concerts and pour money into trying to make a fanbase.

*groan* and Britney Spears is almost unheard of in Japan. Yes, the same goes for Gwen Stefani who is obsessed with Japan.

i forgot what show it was but there was one segment where some average joe white guy dresses up as a pop star and is surrounded by a crowd acting as fans in Tokyo and they wanted to see the Japanese people's reaction, and low and behold more people were surrounding him and they were taking pics even tho they didn't know him.
