Gee...I go to Flushing quite frequently, and I feel as If I am back in Korea...
Somewhere in the 70's

Gives the clue I am not young....

For all koreans either living or visiting the us would only appreciate
how Flushing is quite unique among all korean towns in the US.

I was in Chicago once and what they call korean town was like 4 small blocks
with some restaurant and grocer and maybe a small electronic shop.

Now, in LA whatever they call korean Town is actually spread out just like
the way the city of LA is actually.. spread out like butter on a toast.

In Phoenix, there is a small segment of korean stores like in a block but
pretty much everything is closed about 11pm

There is nothing like Flushing in the US..I may say again.

What is your opinion on this topic?

yeah omg i was on my way to columbia university and my dad ended up in flushing. i never been to new york outside of chinatown before so i was so at awed when i went to flushing. it's definitely koreatown. it's not as hectic as chinatown but there are so many hot koreans walking down the streets! lol i wanna go back to flushing again and shop there and eat some korean food. i never had it before.

instead of flushing you can also try out palisades park in nj

flushing is amazing. the best food anywhere in the east coast. but I felt like there was a stronger Chinese presence than Korean??? I think it's like 23% Chinese and 13% Korean there.

I think the reason for there not being a more concentrated K-town in other places is because the Korean community centers on their churches while the Chinese community centers on their Chinatowns.

There's like a church on every block in certain areas of flushing. I was like how do you know which one to go to? lol embarassedlaugh.gif

Flushing is a horrible area, imo. But extremely convinent. Though rather then live in the states, I would just move back to Japan, I think.

I heard that there are some racist doucebags living in the Flushing area against Asians. I heard stories of black and some hispanics (Puerto Ricans) making ching-chong slurs to my friend who's Korean. Is it that bad in Flushing?
ABC in NYC
Not true--- Flushing is mostly asian so its highly unlikely this occured. Why u always so racist and negative?

There is a Korea Town in Manhattan near the Empire State Building. The area is surrounded by towers. It's bordered by 31st and 36th Sts. and Fifth and Sixth Aves.

I love Flushing. Flushing is great! I think it's 50/50 in Flushing. 50% Koreans & 50% Chinese depending on which part of Flushing do you go to.
