eek.gif hot dayum that would be "madcool"! eek.gif

btw do u get internet connection in ur dorm?? or do u hafta get ur own service?
SkylineC83
umm depends i guess....usually if it's school dorms, they'll provide internet service as well as basically all utilities (minus phone)

but if you get a private apartment or condo, all that stuff is your responsibility

Most colleges set a limit to what you can download in your dorm. I think in UIUC you can only download around 500MB to 1GB, not sure.

Anyways, he said that wi-fi is to allow schools to have internet access, and provide low-income families the technology to go online. I can see the service being somewhat slower than most household services.

UIUC is 750MB/day....but there are ways around that shifty.gif

yeah i'd imagine it'd be much slower.....but just the fact that you can drive while surfing the web....that's awesome

plus he says it'd be no increase to tax payers hump.gif SCORE!

I think is 750MB a month or something, I don't think it was a day. That'll be good no tax increase, but still we don't know how reliable it can be.

but as far as the city wide net thing....yeah i'm sure it's not gonna let you do anything excessive other than surf

I think it's possible. WIFI isn't all that expensive anymore, and you can extend a signal with a device pretty easily.
