it's the best.. one of few american cities that are not car-dependent
It used to be crime ridden but has gotten a lot better since Guiliani came to office. That said, there's still parts of NY that's not any better than africa and should be avoided..

Otherwise, no...unless you just want to base it on the high population alone having higher proportions of different kinds of statistics because of their numbers.

New York is bad in certain places. I used to live in Jersey, so I would go to China Town all the time to eat. I took drives thru Queens, BK, and etc... too ghetto! I did not feel safe.
You have to be street smart. Money doesn't come into your pockets, but you can buy cheap louis vuitton discounts in chinatown area.
last time I was there, this dude came up to me, and he was like du yoo wanna buy a louis vuitton bag, it's only 45 dollas. And I was like "Nah, I aint got not money!" And "I said I'll come back later," and he said, "no $hit, I gotta go befo the cops come. You know whatam sayin?"
In order to live in a place like New York, you gotta know your numbers, because getting an apartment in New York, 1,200 a month.

But it's not the baddest though, just more competitive. Crime rates are actually the lowest.

I don't think I could ever move out of New York. I've visited so many different cities in the U.S & I must say New York is the best. The city has everything you want & everything is so near.

Just yesterday I saw a show about how former mayor Rudy Giuliani become mayor but before than he was attorney general and cleaned up the streets of criminals and all. NYC is pretty clean I'd say.
