I think it's moments like this that makes Worldcup truly meaningful:

I think it's very sad that Togolese were denied visa entries to Germany. Hopefully, this problem will be properly addressed in FIFA's standards of selecting next Worldcup hosts.

I feel that there is a conspiracy against Tobago...
CJK
conspiracy?
tobago?

there's no conspiracy against the togolese.

it's sad that many togolese weren't allowed into germany to root their team,
but germany's just looking out for themselves.

That's great and all, but where's the one where a Togo player starts massaging a korean player? I forgot who he massaged but he definately did it...

I do wish Togo could go through. I mean, they've gone through tough times. I never recall such chaos in a team right at the door of the World Cup in football history, and yet they played well.
I was routing for them against the Swiss simply because they deserve something out of football. They do have good players.
Hopefully they can make recieve respect by playing a memorable game against France.

I didn't lose all hope on Togo. Did you see the their Spainish game? Their only tactic was to not let Spain score, and it worked, but it resulted in a tie. Also, seeing their African brothers (Ghana) win just about every game after their first it a great morale boost.

Here what it says...got it from s.oompi...quite sad... icon_sad.gif

Lee Young Pyo player is a strong Christian.
After winnig the game against Togo, he prays.
But right next to him is Mohamed Abdel Kader Coubadja Toure, the first one to score in the game, crying.
Togo is a very poor country.
Their people's average income is less than $400.
Their happiness of being able to enter the World Cup ended shortly.
As a poor country they were faced with many difficulities.

Did you happen to notice that there were suprising amount of Korean fans
and a very few amount of Togo fans?
Togo too had their own supporting fan group ready to come to Germany.
But they werent able to come. Their visa wasnt approved.
What is the reason?

Suprsingly, the reason is very sad.
The German officals put the Togo fans in a different branch.
They thought by allowing the Togo fans to come, they would do some illegal stuff.
That is why Togo fans' visa werent approved.

So unfortunately, Togo players entered the stadium, full of Red Devil's cheerings.
And there was an accident of playing Korea's national songs twice during the national anthem.
The kids who had escorted the players left, thinking the anthems were over after they played Korean song.
There were puzzled expressions all over Togo's players faces.

How would have they felt?
30 min. after the game, Coubadja scored.
He danced in joy with his fellow teamates.
Do you know what this dance is?
This is the dance their ancestors danced to after winning a war.
Togo players must have been happy. It was their first World Cup and they scored their first goal.
However, the Korean team scored twice.
Togo was left with the record of loss.

Coubadja, who scored the first goal, fell to the ground instantly crying,

What made him cry this much?
Unlike our unifrom that absorbed the sweat of Korean players,
Togo's unifroms were getting wet and stained by their sweats.
Their uniforms didnt absorb the sweats.
They were finally able to enter their very first World Cup.
He was able to make the very first goal.
Yet they lost.
How could he have explained his sorrow?

After praying, Lee Young Pyo comes next to him and comforts him.
Would Korea have felt like this 54 years ago?
This brings back sad memories when Korea was like this.
We hope that Togo can do well in the remaining games.
