most people who listen to j-pop, k-pop dont understand the language. i guess they like the sound of it or sth. some good j-pop singers include: boa, Hello Project , ayumi, SMAP

Music isn't about what language it's sung in... It's more about the creativity of the sound in my opinion. That's the reason why I listen to different types of music. I could care less about lyrics.

Anyways.

Utada is a cool singer but my number one is Nakashima Mika.

Good music is good music regardless of lyrics.
If anything in Western (English language) music, the lyrics and language make the songs less attractive, especially in modern music.
