filipino traditionally eat with their hands. the plate is traditionally banana leaves. i love eating with hands esp. with seafood. my mom does every so often. but most pinoys eat with a spoon or fork and spoon.

i, before, do not know how to eat with my hands until i was taught by a friend of mine in high school during a camping on Boy Scout last Feb. 2003. when he found out that i don't know how to eat with my hands, he burst out laughing. he told most of our fellow scouts and they thought that i wsa funny. icon_confused.gif icon_confused.gif icon_confused.gif nice. i became the laughing stock of the group. because of this, i asked him to teach me how to eat with my hands. however, ever since that day, i was never able to have a chance to eat with my hand again. sigh.

It's nice to eat fish with bare hands. icon_smile.gif

for some unknown reason me and my family have been using only forks recently icon_confused.gif

before though we'd just do that "use the fork to push the food on the spoon" method.

most pinoys i know use that fork and spoon, but my lola did use her hands...but she did it so primitively icon_sad.gif like her hands would be like dripping in rice and soy sauce then she'd go and hand me a fork <_< T_T

I still do. Mostly depends on what dish I'm eating.

Tapa in the morning, with fresly sliced tomato, alamang, toyo with lime (no calamansi!), would definitely call for a hands-on approach! Yumm! yahoo.gif

Magkinamot ko kung barbique og puso.
I use my hand when eating barbique and rice(incased in a bipyramidal leaf structure)... laugh.gif
It's a bisaya thing. Puso(not heart) but Pusó as in rice inside a woven case.
